Race 1 of the MSBK600 Class hit the circuit with a slightly different approach but Andi Farid Izdihar of ASTRA HONDA Racing Team showcased his ability to fortify his position when he made it fastest to the chequered flag in the Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) held at the Sepang International Circuit today. Andi has been on a roll since his debut in Round 2. Today’s race boasted his grand performance when he cleverly guarded his position at P1 from the start of the race to its completion. Andi never faltered as he took speed with more laps. The Indonesian rider has definitely set a different tone for the race category this time around as he charged far ahead of the troop. He marked his victory at 21’52:823s, bagging maximum points to his name. Commenting on the race, Andi said, “I was confident during the race, especially in the beginning. I was able to create a huge gap between myself and the troop behind me. I tried to keep up to the pace to manage the race better but towards the last three laps, my rear tire began to give way and the grip was slipping away. I am happy that despite the circumstances, I was still able to hold on to P1. Of course, the situation will have to be analysed but I am certainly looking forward to tomorrow’s race.” Taking the second spot on the podium was Md Ibrahim Noroddin of SIC Racing Team at 21’56:260s. It was a proud moment for Muhd Irfan Haykal Amidi of BOON SIEW HONDA RACING TEAM when he took charge of Race 1 in Round 3, Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) and made it to the top spot on the podium in the MSBK250 A Class which was held at Sepang International Circuit. In the qualifying session that was conducted earlier this morning, Muhd Irfan Haykal Amidi of BOON SIEW HONDA RACING TEAM made the fastest time lap at 2’30:561s followed by M. Amirul Affiq A. Solikhin of BUDAK KIMIA-JOND CHAIN LUBE RACING BY BRAAAP at 2’30:927s. In third fastest, it was Muhd Alif Ashraf Tahiruddin of TEGUH MOKTI’s RACING TEAM at 2’36:133s. During the race, Irfan took lead of the troop with Amirul at P2. However, as he made his laps around the circuit, he created a bigger gap between himself and his closest rival. For 8 laps, Irfan placed himself steadily at P1 and towards the chequered flag, he confidently glided to a finish at 20’17:747s. The MSBK250 B Class concluded its race with Muhd Amir Izzat Rozali of HORIZON RACING TEAM topping the list as the fastest in Race 1 of Round 3, Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) which was held at the Sepang International Circuit. In the qualifying session earlier this morning, Mohd Ezrix Syahriz of BUDAK KIMIA-JOND CHAIN LUBE RACING BY BRAAAP made the fastest lap time at 2’39:833s. In second fastest spot, it was Muhd Amir Izzat Rozali of HORIZON RACING TEAM at 2’40:004s followed by Ahmad Fariz Zafri of BUDAK KIMIA-JOND CHAIN LUBE RACING BY BRAAAP at 2’40:529s. During the race, Amir was seen pacing consistently and he strode aboard the Kawasaki Ninja 250. Behind him, his teammate Izrul who was his closest rival did not seem to threaten his momentum which placed Amir in a safe play throughout. Amir did not participate in Round 1 however in Round 2, he made some striking moves that bagged him the “Weekend Warrior” title with a total of 66 points. Today, he marked his fastest at 21’26:621s. Commenting on the race, Amir said, “I am thrilled to have made the fastest in this race category. Today’s race was good despite the rainy weather. The young men of Yamalube Y16ZR Race MasterClass race category fought a good battle in Race 1 of Round 3, Malaysia Superbike Championship in a bid to score the winning title at the Sepang International Circuit. Arash Tsunami Kamarudin of EL CHONG however beat them to the punch when he took the top spot on the podium. Earlier in the morning, the qualifying session concluded with Ahmad Syukran Aizat Yusoff of XL MOTOR taking the pole position when he made his fastest at 2’52:229s. Abdullah Qayyum Abd Razak took the second spot on the grid with his best at 2’52:889s. At the third fastest, it was Muhd Fareez Afeez Abdul Rahman of TME MOTORSPORTS, clocking in at 2’53:459s. During the race, Arash who took the 11th spot on the grid was seen managing his pace among the riders in the back troop waiting for the window of opportunity to strike. As the riders completed the laps one by one, he was nowhere in sight among the top five. However, at the last lap, Arash who is known for his dexterity and the willpower to succeed pushed himself among the riders ahead of him. He made it past the huge group of riders and into the top three before finally working his magic to bolt to the chequered flag. Arash concluded the race fastest at 17’48:604s. Commenting on the race, Arash said, “I did not expect to win the race this time around considering I was at the back of the troop. However, on the last lap, I found an opening to move forward. At the last turn, it was even better when I was able to push further and finally, I won. I am truly happy. The MSBK1000 A Class had their first real challenge today in the Qualifying Session of the Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) at the Sepang International Circuit and Kasma Danial Kasmayudin of YAMAHA Racing Team ASEAN marked the fastest in the session. In the third practice session of Round 3 held earlier in the morning, Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of YAMAHA Racing Team ASEAN clocked in the fastest in the combined practice result sheet at 2’06:801s. At the second fastest, it was Takuya Tsuda of MOBILUB SUZUKI RACING TEAM who made his fastest lap time at 2’08:024s. Md Zaqhwan Zaidi of Honda-Asia Dream Racing with SHOWA took the third fastest with his best lap time at 2’08:320s. Raja Nazeem Iskandar of SAVITAR Racing marked the fastest in the session. The championship kick-started its morning with the MSBK600 practice session three. The MSBK250 A Class began their exciting moment today in the final round of the Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK). Starting with the practice session, Muhd Irfan Haykal Amidi of BOON SIEW HONDA RACING TEAM came out strong as the fastest in the session, combined. Since the start of the season, Irfan has showcased extraordinary performances and over the course of two rounds, he has taken two wins and three podiums out of the six races thus far. Riding aboard the Honda CBR250RR, Irfan currently is at the leading position in the overall standings with a total of 117 points to date. Despite the rainy conditions at the circuit, Irfan has proved that he is capable of handling his machine and setting the right pace to take pole position. The MSBK250 B Class once again hit the ground of the Sepang International Circuit today for its final round in the Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK). After two practice sessions, Muhd Izrul Huzaimie Amran of HORIZON RACING TEAM emerged as the fastest rider in the session, combined. Izrul is a newcomer in the MSBK scene for this season. A former rider of the prestigious national motorcycle racing championship, Izrul seems to have found his footing despite not performing for a long time. In practice session one, Izrul clocked in his best time at 2’57:541s but he upped his performance in practice session two and made some improvements. He logged in at 2’47:596s.
