For most motorcycle riders, the journey begins at a young age. From riding pocket bikes, slowly climbing the ranks through years of racing experience. But for Mohd Fahmi Abdul Wahaf of FGRT PROJECT ONE, the road into professional racing began differently. There were no junior championships. No childhood racing background. No early years spent on circuits. Instead, Fahmi’s journey began in 2022 with a purchase that would unexpectedly change the course of his life, with a Ducati Panigale V4. “First of all, I got involved in motorsports after buying my first superbike, a Ducati Panigale V4, in 2022,” Fahmi recalled. “I attended my very first track day in July 2022. After experiencing track riding for the first time, I realised that simply riding during track days was no longer enough for me. Something inside me wanted more. That was when I decided to join riding classes with Coach Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman, and that marked the true beginning of my journey in racing.” What started as curiosity quickly evolved into commitment. Fahmi still remembers his first riding lesson with former national rider Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman on 22 September 2022, a moment he now sees as the turning point of his racing career. “At the beginning, my goal was simply to learn the correct riding techniques for track days,” he explained. “But over time, under Coach Azlan’s guidance, I improved and became more confident on the bike. Eventually, I shared my dream of becoming a racer with him, and he took my ambition seriously. From that moment onward, the training became much more intense and focused because we were no longer preparing just for track days, we were preparing for racing.” Unlike many riders in the paddock who began racing at a young age, Fahmi entered the sport later in life and directly into superbike racing, a path he admits came with its own challenges. “Yes, my journey is definitely different from most professional riders,” he said. “I started at a much later age, but age has never stopped my passion for motorsports. Every rider faces challenges in this sport. Some riders are naturally gifted and adapt very quickly. For me, I relied more on determination, discipline, hard work, and consistent training to reach this level.” That determination soon led him to the MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship, the platform that would ultimately shape his racing career. Fahmi made his debut in the MSBK1000 A category during Round 4 of the 2023 season at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit on 17 December 2023, which became a moment that remains unforgettable. “At that time, my best lap time at Sepang was around 2’19:000s,” Fahmi recalled. “Back then, I joined races mainly to gain experience and learn as much as possible. I was also very fortunate to begin my racing journey with FGRT PROJECT ONE, a team that gave me the opportunity and support during the early stages of my career.” But the rider who entered the grid then is vastly different from the one competing today. “Now, my mindset is completely different. Today, I race to compete with other riders and fight for podiums, victories, and championships.” While the journey has been rewarding, it has also demanded sacrifices. “The biggest challenges for me are fitness, time, and energy management,” Fahmi admitted. “At my current age, I have to compete against younger riders and full-time professional racers. At the same time, I also have responsibilities outside racing, including my career and family commitments. Because of that, I need to work even harder to remain competitive at this level.” Yet, through hard work and persistence, Fahmi’s progress in MSBK has opened doors far beyond Malaysia, earning him an opportunity to race in the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. Still, Fahmi never forgets where it all truly began. For him, MSBK was not just another championship. It was the platform that transformed a newcomer with zero racing experience into a rider capable of competing at a professional level. And for those who believe it may be “too late” to pursue a dream, here’s Fahmi’s message to all: “I believe there is no such thing as ‘too late’ in any field, including racing. The most important things are passion, dedication, consistency, and the willingness to work hard for your dreams.”
Round 1 of the 2026 MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit delivered a thrilling wet-weather showdown in Race 2 of the MSBK1000 A category, where Mohammad Adenanta Putra of ASTRA HONDA RACING TEAM produced a composed and decisive performance to secure victory and bounce back from a difficult Race 1. The race was initially delayed after a red flag was shown during the warm-up lap due to a sudden change in weather. With rain intensifying, Race Direction called teams back into the pits as they quickly switched to wet tyres, setting up a shortened seven-lap sprint on a fully soaked circuit. When the race finally got underway, Muhd Zaqhwan Zaidi from Malaysia immediately surged into the lead, setting a strong early pace despite the treacherous conditions. Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MALAYSIA followed in second, with Adenanta settling into third ahead of Adam Norrodin and Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman of AMI SUZUKI MOTORSPORT. By Lap 2, Zaqhwan was pushing at extreme pace, reaching 282km/h, but Adenanta remained close in the fight, just 0.276s behind. On Lap 3, Azlan made a significant move into second place with a fastest lap of 2’28.075s, closing rapidly on the leader, while Adenanta stayed steady in third and Adam continued a lone ride in fourth. Zaqhwan responded on Lap 4 with another fastest lap of 2’27.266s, but Azlan stayed within striking distance. Lap 5 saw Azlan push harder again with a 2’25.738s lap, tightening the battle at the front as Adenanta and Adam gradually edged closer to the lead group. The decisive moment came on Lap 6 when Azlan briefly took the lead, only for Adenanta to immediately counter with a clean and calculated overtake to seize first place. From there, he controlled the final lap under intense pressure. Adenanta crossed the line in 17’14.132s to claim victory, followed by Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman in 17’16.001s and Muhd Zaqhwan Zaidi in 17’16.937s after a late charge. Adenanta said, “This weekend both races were wet, and it’s my first experience in these conditions in this category. Yesterday I had good pace but crashed on the last lap. I learned from that—today I stayed calm, improved lap by lap, and managed the tyres better. In the final laps, I knew I could push. Alhamdulillah for the win. This is important for my experience, and now I’m ready for Round 2 of ARRC in Buriram.” TOP 5 FASTEST – RACE 2 1. MOHAMMAD ADENANTA PUTRA – ASTRA HONDA RACING TEAM (17’14.132s) 2. Round 1 of the MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship 2026 at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit continued to deliver unpredictable drama, as Race 2 of the MSBK1000 B category unfolded in wet and challenging conditions. The race was initially delayed when a sudden change in weather during the warm-up lap triggered a red flag, forcing riders back to the pits. With rain intensifying, Race Direction declared a delay as teams quickly switched to wet tyres, setting up a shortened seven-lap sprint on a slippery and unpredictable surface. As the race started, Jeff Cheong of B.A TUNING launched strongly to take the holeshot, with Santhiran A/L Naga Raju from Malaysia close behind in second. Lap 5 proved crucial when Wesley capitalised on an opportunity to overtake Chi Chuen for third, reshuffling the podium fight. However, the changing wet conditions continued to test the riders, with constant position battles through Lap 6. Heading into the final lap, Santhiran held firm at the front, showing exceptional control and consistency under pressure. Jeff remained within striking distance but was unable to launch a decisive attack. Behind them, Chi Chuen fought back to secure third ahead of Wesley, while Alvinderjitsingh stayed in contention. In a move that has captured attention across the paddock, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman returns to the MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) 2026 in the premier MSBK1000 A category, but this time, with an unexpected twist. Long synonymous with BMW machinery, Azlan’s switch to a Suzuki platform signals not just a change of bike, but a bold new chapter in a career built on experience, adaptability, and race-winning intelligence. For many, the image of Azlan on anything other than a BMW may have once seemed unlikely. Yet, for a rider of his calibre, evolution has always been part of the journey. What makes this transition particularly significant is not just Azlan’s role as a rider, but his value as a technical leader within the team. With years of top-level racing experience under his belt, Azlan brings with him a depth of knowledge that extends far beyond the throttle. It is something that proves invaluable in the highly competitive MSBK1000 A field. In fact, his presence within the team, AMI SUZUKI MOTORSPORT, goes beyond personal performance. Azlan has taken on a crucial role in guiding development and accelerating the progress of those around him, including fellow rider Adam Norrodin. Sharing insight into his responsibilities, Azlan explained, “My role within the team goes beyond just riding. I’ve been working closely with the crew to refine the overall setup and contribute to the development of the bike. There are always many areas that need to be understood and improved, especially when it comes to electronics and suspension. These are critical elements that can make a significant difference in performance. At the same time, I’ve been supporting Adam Norrodin to help him adapt more quickly by sharing my experience and working together on finding a stronger base setup. The goal is to help him reach a more competitive level as soon as possible, not just for the upcoming races, but also in the long term. For me, it’s about building something sustainable. When the team improves as a whole, the results will follow. I believe that by working together and continuously developing the package, we can become stronger with each round.” Azlan’s approach reflects the mindset of a seasoned rider who understands that success in modern superbike racing is no longer defined by individual brilliance alone, but by collective progress and technical precision. As he adapts to the Suzuki machine, questions remain on how quickly he can unlock its full potential in race conditions. However, if there is one certainty, it is that Azlan’s experience will play a decisive role, not just in his own campaign, but in shaping the trajectory of the entire team. In a championship where marginal gains can define the outcome, having a rider who can both perform and elevate those around him is a rare asset. And in 2026, Azlan may once again prove that his greatest strength lies not only in his speed, but in the legacy he builds within the team.
The MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship 2026 marks a bold and defining transition for Khairulamirin Yahaya, as the FKR CHV RACING rider steps up to the highly competitive MSBK600 category for the first time in his career. After competing in the MSBK250 A category last season, where he concluded the championship 11th overall, Amirin now finds himself entering unfamiliar territory. The move to Supersport machinery represents not just a progression in class, but a complete shift in performance demands, technical complexity, and race dynamics. Amirin said, “For the 2026 season, the team decided to take on a new challenge by entering the Supersport category, and they’ve entrusted me with the responsibility of racing in this class after our time together in the MSBK250 A category. As a rider, this truly feels like a first for me, as I’ve never competed in the Supersport category before. In many ways, I consider myself a newcomer at this level, and I know there is a lot for me to learn.” “On top of that, the team has chosen the Ducati Panigale V2 for this campaign, which makes this project even more exciting and unique. From what I understand, this could be the first time the Ducati Panigale V2 is being raced in the MSBK600 class, so it’s a very special debut for both the team and the bike,” He added. The introduction of the Ducati Panigale V2 adds another compelling layer to Amirin’s 2026 campaign. Known for its power and character, the machine presents a new set of challenges, especially for a rider transitioning from smaller capacity bikes. Despite the step up in horsepower, Amirin remains grounded in his approach. “There’s no real pressure placed on me this season. The team’s objective is clear—we want to focus on collecting as much data as possible, working on suspension setup, and most importantly, building my familiarity with the Ducati. This is my first time racing a bike with this level of power, so adapting will take time. That said, I do have some experience managing strong torque from my time competing in the Spanish Supermoto Championship on a 450cc Husqvarna, which I believe will help me adjust. Personally, I’m very happy with this transition. I’m excited to see how far we can push, not just in terms of my own development as a rider, but also in achieving the right balance and performance with the bike as a team.” With a fresh challenge, a unique machine, and a team committed to long-term development, the 2026 season could prove to be a pivotal turning point in his career. For Amirin, the journey into MSBK600 is not just about results. It’s about growth, discovery, and laying the foundation for something bigger.
After years of waiting for the right opportunity, 2026 marks an emotional return for Nazirul Izzat Md Bahauddin as he makes his comeback to the MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) in the MSBK250 category, seven years after his last appearance in the class in 2019. This season, Nazirul will line up under the banner of Team ACR, ending a long period away from the 250cc machinery that once defined an important chapter of his racing journey. Since stepping away from the category, Nazirul has continued to stay active in other championships, competing primarily in the 150cc class. While he remained competitive, the ambition to one day return to the larger-capacity machine never faded. For Nazirul, this is more than simply a move back to a familiar class — it is the return he has quietly hoped for over the years. The transition, however, will not come without its challenges. Having spent several seasons adapting to smaller-displacement motorcycles, the switch back to a 250cc machine demands a completely different rhythm, riding style, and physical adjustment. It will also be his first time riding a 250cc bike in competitive conditions since 2019, making this comeback both exciting and demanding. Nazirul admitted that finally receiving the opportunity again was a deeply meaningful moment in his career. “Alhamdulillah, I am truly grateful to finally be given the opportunity to return to a 250cc machine after such a long wait. This is something I have been hoping for for quite some time, so to be able to experience this again means a lot to me personally. I would like to thank Team ACR for their trust and for giving me this chance. Their belief in me is something I deeply appreciate, and I hope this can become the beginning of a positive new chapter in my career. Because it has been quite some time since I last rode a full-sized 250cc machine, I know I may need a little time to find the right setup and readjust myself completely. Even so, I am fully committed to giving my best in the opening round and doing everything I can to make this return count.” Nazirul’s return adds another compelling storyline to the 2026 MSBK250 grid, with fans eager to see how quickly he can rediscover the form that once made him a familiar name in the category. While the opening round may be about rebuilding confidence and adapting to the machine once again, Nazirul enters the season with something many riders understand well — unfinished ambition. And for Nazirul, the road back to MSBK250 may just be the beginning.

In the Berjaya Sompo YAMAHA R15M Race Elites category of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP, one rider proved that perseverance and steady progress can lead to glory. Asyraff Zaquan Zainal Raif emerged as the Overall Champion, a testament to patience, focus, and unwavering dedication. The season didn’t start perfectly for Asyraff. Early rounds saw him settling into the rhythm, learning the circuits, and fine-tuning his approach. But with each race, improvement came incrementally, lap by lap, until it exploded into a breakthrough. In Round 4 Race 1, Asyraff claimed his first victory of the season, a win that not only earned crucial points but also catapulted him to the top of the standings and secured the overall championship. What makes his story remarkable is that he didn’t rely solely on raw talent. He demonstrated patience, resilience, and a commitment to continuous growth. Asyraff’s journey shows that early setbacks don’t define the outcome, and that steady effort, persistence, and belief in oneself can turn any season around. A rider who may have seemed average at first ended the year as a champion. His achievement is a reminder to all that it is never too late to reach your goals, and that progress, no matter how gradual, can lead to greatness. With talent matched by determination, Asyraff Zaquan Zainal Raif is not just a 2025 champion, but a rider whose journey and dedication make him one to watch in the years ahead.
In the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP, YAMAHA Y16ZR Race MasterClass category, one rider proved that determination, discipline, and sheer willpower can overcome any challenge. Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain emerged as the Overall Champion, a testament to focus both on and off the track. The category is notorious for its intense pack racing, with riders battling in tight groups for every corner and every position. To come out on top requires not only strategy and skill but peak physical performance. Competing alongside younger riders with smaller physiques, Jebat knew he had to do more than just ride fast. He doubled his training intensity, fine-tuned his fitness, and maintained a strict diet, keeping his body light and agile for the rigours of the race. Every push, every lap, every calorie counted and the results spoke for themselves. Jebat’s combination of preparation, intelligence, and sheer grit allowed him to not only keep pace with the pack but to consistently find opportunities to take the lead. His discipline transformed obstacles into advantages, turning physical and mental limits into a championship-winning formula. At a young age, Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain has already demonstrated the mindset of a champion. If he continues his dedication and hard work, there is no doubt he will achieve even greater success in Malaysian motorsport and beyond.
The 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP found one of its young heroes in MSBK250 B. At 13 years old, Qayyim Razin Razali of HORIZON RACING TEAM didn’t just enter the season, he disrupted it. From Round 1 to Round 4, Race 1 and Race 2, he was unstoppable, delivering a clean, untouchable sweep. No shared victories, no trading places, no “almost beat him” moments. Just Qayyim, first place, every single time. But the fascinating part wasn’t the wins. It was how he won. While others raced the field, Qayyim raced the clock. He rarely looked behind, because his competition wasn’t there. It was in his lap delta, in the milliseconds he wanted back, in the version of himself he was determined to outgrow. Most riders push to catch up. He pushes to level up. Even with giant gaps in hand, he never cruised. He hunted improvements like someone was chasing him, constantly refining, constantly evolving, constantly faster. By the time others tried to close in, he was already gone, improving again. Fans call him unbeatable. Teammates call him focused. But inside his helmet, he simply sees someone he still wants to surpass, himself. Thirteen years old, yet riding with the discipline of a veteran and the ambition of someone with no finish line in sight. If this is just the opening chapter, the pages ahead could hold something extraordinary. Qayyim Razin Razali is not just the 2025 MSBK250 B Champion. He is proof that age is a number, but greatness is a mindset.
In racing, talent gets you on the grid, but intelligence keeps you ahead. For Ahmad Afif Amran of SUPERFAST JRT X RAPIDO, the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP title in MSBK250 A was won not only on the throttle, but in the data, the details, and the decisions. Afif doesn’t just ride the bike. He understands it. While many rely purely on instinct, Afif blends speed with technical precision. After every session, he’s trackside with his team, laptop open, reading telemetry like a language, throttle traces, lean angles, braking points, turning data into setup advantages. This rare mix of instinct and analytics became his edge in 2025. On track, he was relentless yet calculated. His starts, explosive. His overtakes, sharp and intentional. When rivals pushed, Afif responded not with chaos, but strategy. Every lap was a lesson. Every corner, an equation solved. He grew faster by understanding more, refining suspension feel, maximizing corner exits, unlocking performance others couldn’t. When pressure peaked, Afif thrived. When the moment demanded execution, he delivered. That is how he became champion. Not just with fast hands, but with a faster mind. Ahmad Afif Amran, the rider who thinks faster than he rides. The 2025 champion who proved intelligence wins races.
Khairul Idham Pawi of HONDA RACING MYS once again proved why Malaysia calls him “The King of Rain.” When storms turn the circuit into a battle of balance and bravery, he thrives. While others tiptoe through uncertainty, Khairul finds traction where few can, carving racing lines invisible to the untrained eye. In the wettest moments of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP, he didn’t just survive. He dominated. Reducing Khairul to a rain specialist would be unfair. His smooth control, perfect braking, and calm focus turn consistency into his greatest weapon. While others flare, he endures. Challenges came fast, but Khairul’s resilience never wavered. Every test, every rival, every doubt was met with results on the track. His success in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP is also a culmination of years on the world stage. From Moto3 to Moto2, and across regional circuits, Khairul gained not just speed, but perspective, intelligence, and a veteran understanding of race psychology. This showed in every start, every overtake, and every finish line crossed in MSBK600. By season’s end, Khairul Idham Pawi was the rightful MSBK600 Champion. Not by accident. Not by luck. But by craft, courage, and quiet brilliance. Rain or shine, Khairul is unstoppable. The 2025 crown wasn’t handed to him. He conquered it.
In racing, winning every race is not the only path to glory. For Teuku Irfan Affandy of TRIPLE A GARAGE, crowned MSBK1000 B Overall Champion in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP, success came from consistency, determination, and pure love for the sport. Teuku did not sweep every podium, but he was always finishing strong and keeping his championship hopes alive. With one triumph, a handful of podiums, and consistent top five finishes, he steadily accumulated the points needed for the championship. Every finish, every lap, every point counted, a testament to his discipline and unwavering focus. Teuku’s triumph highlights a truth often overlooked in racing. It is not always about dominating every race. It is about passion, perseverance, and the determination to cross the finish line, race after race. His approach of racing smart, finishing strong, and staying consistent made the difference, proving that a champion is not just fast, but resilient, committed, and in love with the sport. Teuku Irfan Affandy showed that consistency and heart can be just as powerful as sheer speed, earning him the well-deserved title of MSBK1000 B Overall Champion.
Not all champions are loud. Some win by being exact. Calculated. Unshakably consistent. In the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP, Azroy Hakeem Anuar let his riding do the talking. Racing for HONDA RACING MALAYSIA, he built his campaign with clean, controlled, intelligent, and relentlessly fast riding. No theatrics. No unnecessary risks. Just clinical execution. Corner after corner, his technical precision shone. Even amid fierce competition, Azroy stayed calm, adapting and striking with consistent lap times that kept him ahead. Under championship pressure, he remained composed, proving that titles are won through consistency, not chaos. Fresh from the global stage at MotoGP Malaysia on 26 October 2025, Azroy returned to domestic competition sharper, faster, and more confident. At PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit for Round 4, he dominated both Race 1 and Race 2, showcasing the upgraded race craft earned from international experience. And when the season drew its final breath, there was only one rightful conclusion. Azroy Hakeem Anuar is the 2025 MSBK1000 A Overall Champion. Not by luck. Not by chance. But by mastery. A champion who wins by being better, every lap, every round, every moment.
Round 4 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit saw Azroy Hakeem Anuar of HONDA RACING MYS secure his second victory of the weekend in the MSBK1000 A category, clinching the 2025 Overall Championship in style. At the start, Muhd Helmi Azman of HONDA RACING MYS surged ahead to lead the pack, followed closely by Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MYS and Azroy in third. Early laps witnessed an intense battle at the front. By Lap 3, Kasma overtook Helmi, while Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah from Malaysia set the fastest lap of 2’06.943s to move up the order. Adam Norrodin of AMI SUZUKI MOTORSPORT retired due to technical issues. From Lap 6 onwards, Hafizh continued to close in on the leading trio with another fastest lap of 2’06.106s, signalling his intent to challenge the top riders. On Lap 7, Helmi reclaimed the lead from Kasma, but Azroy capitalized on a gap at Turn 13 to move past Kasma and join Helmi at the front. Even though we’re older, and Azlly is older too, he still gave me a strong challenge. Round 4 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit witnessed a spectacular showdown in the MSBK600 category, as Md Izam Ikmal Izamli of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MALAYSIA claimed victory in Race 2. Despite Izam’s win, Khairul Idham Pawi of HONDA RACING MYS secured the MSBK600 Overall Champion title for the 2025 season. From the outset, Izam had a strong start, but Farres Putra Md Fadhil of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MALAYSIA capitalized on an open line to take the early lead, with Khairul slotting into second. Izam quickly settled into third, closely followed by Cao Viet Nam and Md Irfan Haykhal Amidi of HONDA RACING MYS. The early laps saw relentless action at the front. Izam and Khairul swapped positions repeatedly, with both riders setting fastest laps and keeping the crowd on edge. By Lap 4, light rain added an extra layer of challenge, but the duo maintained a gap over Farres, who held third position. Lap 5 brought more drama as Izam set the fastest lap of 2’11.705s to take the lead, only for Khairul to reclaim it at Turn 6. The battle continued through multiple laps with both riders overtaking each other at nearly every turn, while Cao Viet Nam and Farres fought fiercely for third. Lap 9 saw Viet Nam crash but rejoin the race, leaving Farres unchallenged in third. The final lap saw both Izam and Khairul pushing every corner, Khairul attempted a last-moment overtake at the final turn. Izam skilfully blocked him, using his momentum on the straight to cross the finish line first in 22’15.716s, just 0.063s ahead of Khairul, who finished second at 22’15.779s. Farres completed the podium in third at 22’24.475s. Izam said, “Today’s race was insane. I knew I had a very good start, and this weekend, Khairul was much faster compared to the previous round. He tried to maintain his pace and was very aggressive, especially with Race 2 in mind. I stayed with him in the early stages, and it became an intense battle, especially through many of the corners. On the last lap, I knew Khairul was strong on the brakes, so I had to block him into Turn 14 to prevent the overtake, and it worked. Into Turn 15, I held the inside line, and at the corner exit, I knew that was my moment. This win is a blessing from the prayers and support of everyone around me.” Overall, as announced yesterday, Khairul is crowned MSBK600 Overall Champion, with 147 points, ahead of Farres with 114 points and Cao Viet Nam with 109 points. Jebat completed the podium at 17’37.221s, only 0.014s from the win, but with enough points to seal his championship triumph. Afiq said, “The race was intense, and it wasn’t easy for me to get to the front. On the last lap, I pushed as hard as I could. I saw Ali run wide, so I seized the opportunity and went for the gap. I thought I would finish second because I expected someone to slipstream past me, but it turned out I won.” Jebat shared, “Alhamdulillah, thank you to everyone who has always been behind me, especially my parents, my friends who constantly support and pray for me, and my team who never stop motivating me. To my coach, who has been guiding me since I was young and taught me so much. Race 1 of Round 4 in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP’s MSBK600 category at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit delivered an intense battle, with Md Izam Ikmal Izamli of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MALAYSIA narrowly claiming victory over Khairul Idham Pawi of HONDA RACING MYS. Despite finishing second, Khairul’s consistent performance throughout the season earned him the overall 2025 MSBK600 championship title. At the start, Izam surged to the front, leading the race ahead of Cao Viet Nam of HONDA RACING VIE TEAM in second, and Khairul Idham Pawi in third. Farres Putra Md Fadhil of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MYS slotted into fourth, with Md Irfan Haykhal Amidi of HONDA RACING MYS in fifth. By Lap 2, Viet Nam overtook Izam to take the lead, while Khairul set the fastest lap of 2’13.044s on Lap 3, moving into second and chasing the Vietnamese rider. Izam remained in third as Irfan crashed out of the race. Lap 4 saw Khairul seize the lead from Viet Nam, with Izam quickly reclaiming second by overtaking from the inside line and closing in on Khairul. Farres maintained a solid fourth position. As rain began to drizzle on Lap 6, the intensity between Khairul and Izam only increased. Both riders exchanged positions multiple times, with Khairul gaining advantage in the corners and Izam pulling ahead on the straights. By the final lap, the two riders were neck-and-neck, trading overtakes nearly every turn. In a breathtaking finish, Izam edged Khairul by just 0.043s to cross the line in 22’25.027s. Khairul completed a hard-fought second in 22’25.070s, while Viet Nam secured third in 22’32.113s. Although finishing second in Race 1, Khairul’s season-long consistency allowed him to collect 127 points, 29 points ahead of Farres, and secure the overall 2025 MSBK600 championship title. Izam said, “Today’s race was incredible. The weather changed mid-race, and I didn’t expect some corners to be wet, which made the track quite slippery. I couldn’t push 100 percent. Khairul also had strong pace here. At the start, I had a gap on him, but I tried to close in. At the same time, I began losing rear tire grip, so I had to adjust my strategy to prevent him from pulling away. The last lap was unbelievable. I didn’t expect him to overtake me in a corner, but Alhamdulillah, I managed to fight back, overtake him, and secure the win today.” Khairul said, “At the start of the race, I had a decent start, but I lost a few positions. I chased back and managed to stay at the front. But when the rain started, I played it safe. By the time Izam caught up behind me, I knew I had an advantage in the corners, but on the straights, I couldn’t match his speed. Nevertheless, I am still grateful to have earned this championship title.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Lap 3 saw Syamil set the fastest lap of 2’26.650s, briefly moving into first position, but a mistake allowed Afif, Irfan, and Reynaidi to regain the top spots. On Lap 4, Syamil experienced technical setbacks that cost him valuable podium contention. The race continued to intensify with Reynaidi overtaking Afif to lead briefly, and Irfan rising to the top, only for Afif to reclaim first on Lap 7. Akid remained close behind, making it difficult for challengers to break through, while Reynaidi and Idlan rounded out the top five. On the final lap, Irfan attempted a late move to snatch the lead, but Afif’s speed and strategy prevailed. The top three riders exchanged positions in a nail-biting battle, but it was Afif who crossed the finish line first in 19’36.768s. Teammate Akid claimed second in 19’36.871s, while Reynaidi secured third in 19’37.077s. Irfan, unfortunately, crashed at the last corner, ending his race in disappointment. Afif’s victory also clinched the 2025 MSBK250 A championship, as he collected 151 points, 36 points ahead of Akid in second with 102 points. Afif said, “Alhamdulillah, I’m grateful to have won today’s race. I knew the competition would be tough, as the top five riders were practically in one group at the front. I tried to plan my strategy from the start, but I couldn’t break away as they anticipated my moves. On the final lap, I changed my strategy, and in the end, I managed to secure the victory.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP.
