KASMA, UNSHAKEABLE

Round 3 of the Malaysia Superbike Championship took place today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Kasma Daniel Kasmayuddin of Yamaha Gen Blu Racing Team ASEAN marked the fastest today in Race 1 in the MSBK1000 A race category. During the qualifying session this morning, Kasma Daniel Kasmayuddin of Yamaha Gen Blu Racing Team ASEAN once again was striking when he made the fastest lap time at 2’07:033s. At second fastest place was Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman of Horizon Racing Team with his best at 2’08:389s. Soichiro Minamimoto of Yamaha Gen Blu Racing Team ASEAN made it third fastest with his best lap time at 2’09:190s. Taking the lead position at the start was Azlan Shah followed by Kasma at P2 and Soichiro at P3. As the trio went on to complete the lap, they also drew a huge gap with the troop trailing behind. Into lap 2, Kasma who was waiting to strike made his move from the inside and ahead of Azlan. Meanwhile, Azroy who faced race direction picked up his pace and moved into P4. Soichiro tried to close his gap with Azlan as Kasma went on to open a gap of 1.216s with the duo behind him. As the race went on, Kasma was comfortably picking up pace and leading with no pressure from behind. Azroy at P4 was relentless as he went on by lap to move closer to the duo ahead of him. By the end of lap 7, Soichiro and Azroy made a slide from the inside ahead of Azlan but Azlan was quick to recover his position. The three engaged in a heated battle before Azlan and Azroy finished ahead of Soichiro. Kasma celebrated victory at 21’28:457s. Commenting on the race, Kasma said, “I tried to control my pace throughout the race. I was trying to make the lap time that I wanted at 0.6s and finally made it so I am quite pleased. As we closed down one lap by another, I noticed that Azlan who was behind me, the gap was quite big. So, I just maintained my pace and tried to play it safe. I will try to repeat the same victory tomorrow and hope that it will all go well like today.” Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman of Horizon Racing Team took second spot on the podium at 21’32:642s. AMIR, COMPETED WELL

Round 3 of the Malaysia Superbike Championship happened today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Md Amir Izzat Rozali of Horizon Racing Team marked the fastest today in Race 1, MSBK1000 B race category. Earlier today in the qualifying session, Ming Chen of Dream Team went on to make his mark when he made the fastest lap time at 2’12:599s. Second fastest was Amir Izzat of Horizon Racing Team with his best lap time at 2’13:252s. Chee Yen of Mobilub Suzuki Racing Team made third fastest with his best lap time at 2’16:292s. It was quite a show with the MSBK1000 B scene when Ming Chen, Amir and Chee Yen went compete for the best spot. The three riders who have familiarised the circuit over the last two rounds seemed confident as they injected pressure among each other. By the third lap, positions changed between the trio with Amir taking lead followed by Ming Chen and Khoo. Kuo who was waiting to make his move finally overtook Chee Yen on the third lap. The fight for the fastest spot was evident between Amir and Ming Chen who kept challenging each other. Kuo at P3 began facing pressure from Radzi who superseded Chee Yen. With two more laps to go, Ming Chen made it ahead of Amir once again. On the final lap, Ming Chen and Amir went on one final battle before Amir clocked in first at 22’29:396s. Commenting on the race, Amir said, “The race today was very tough to be honest because the Taiwanese rider aboard his BMW was really strong. I had a very good start I would say but mid-race, it got a little challenging. I tried to follow bike #52 until the last lap. On the last lap, I kept close to bike #52, I managed to strike at the last turn. That machine was in a good condition throughout. There is some setup more to be done for tomorrow. I know that Race 2 and Race 3 will be a tough one because Chen is very competitive but I hope to do better than today.” Hsuan Ming Chen of Dream Team made it second fastest at 22’29:524s. 1 DOWN, 2 MORE TO GO FOR HELMI

Round 3 of the Malaysia Superbike Championship took place today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Md Helmi Azman of Boon Siew Honda Racing Team claimed victory in Race 1 of MSBK600 race category. In the qualifying session that was held this morning, Hakim Danish of SIC Racing was confident and competitive as he went on to mark the fastest with his best lap time at 2’10:207s. Helmi Azman of Boon Siew Honda Racing Team made it second fastest with his best lap time at 2’10:264s. At third fastest was Chiah Chih Ying with his best lap time at 2’16:434s. During the race, Helmi was quick to find his position at the first turn with Hakim Danish right behind him at P2. Idlan trailed behind at P3. By the end of lap 1, duo Helmi and Hakim Danish have drawn a wide gap of 5’413s away from the troop behind. Helmi was a combo of aggressive and confidence while Hakim Danish was persistent as he followed closely behind. Throughout the race, it seemed like nothing could shake Helmi down. Although Hakim Danish kept inching closer and injecting pressure, Helmi was relentless and went on with his defense. Not for long before Hakim Danish caught up and overtook Helmi. Hakim Danish then went on to flex his muscles and showcased strength and dexterity. But Helmi had tricks up his sleeves. He made his moves and once again took lead. On the last lap, the duo got into one final battle before Helmi picked up speed and raced towards victory at 21’54:289s. Commenting on the race, Helmi said, “Of course this season had its ups and downs. It has been a very competitive battle throughout the season. Although Khairul Idham Pawi, my main contender is not here to the race even more exciting, Hakim Danish is not bad himself. But I think because I have more experience than he has, I was able to make it today. It was indeed an excellent battle today.” Md Hakim Danish of SIC Racing clocked in second at 21’54:686s. IRFAN STRUCK ONCE AGAIN

Race 1, Round 3 of the Malaysia Superbike Championship took place today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Md Irfan Haykal of Boon Siew Honda Racing Team bagged the win for MSBK250 A today. During the qualifying session earlier this morning, Irfan Haykal was back in action after a much-relaxed day in the FP session, clocking in fastest with his best at 2’26:829s. Second fastest was his teammate, Farid Hakimi, also seemed to have performed better than yesterday with his best lap time at 2’27:399s. Aan Riswanto of SCK Honda Racing Team made it third fastest with his best lap time at 2’27:728s. It was a great start for Irfan as he fled ahead of the troop with the flag-off. Farid Hakimi and Aan Riswanto at P2 and P3 respectively trailed him closely. At the last turn of lap 1, Farid Hakimi overtook Irfan followed by Aan Riswanto. As Farid Hakimi picked up speed, Aan Riswanto fought with Irfan to keep his position. By the end of lap 2, Aan Riswanto took P1. The battle between the trio continued with rapid change in positions. Meanwhile, Muzakkir battled with Geoffrey at P4 and P5. The five riders formed the front troop and went on to stride competitively. On the final lap, Muzakkir slipped and fell. The race continued uninterrupted. Towards the final turn, Geoffrey too, slipped and fell. Trio Aan Riswanto, Irfan and Farid went on one final push before Irfan made it with yet another win at 19’46:414s. Commenting on the race, Irfan said, “First of all, thanks to the team for the wonderful setup of the machine. During the race earlier, I was ahead of the others before my machine gave some problems. I tried to manage it though and went on to compete competitively. I tried to manage my pace and I am happy to have made the win today.” Taking second position on the podium was Aan Riswanto of SCK Honda Racing Team at 19’46:575s. IZRUL, FASTEST IN RACE 1

Round 3 of the Malaysia Superbike Championship happened today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Md Izrul Huzaimi of Horizon Racing Team marked the fastest today in Race 1 of the MSBK250 B race category. Earlier this morning in the qualifying session, Izrul Huzaimie of Horizon Racing Team made improvements in his riding techniques and clocked in fastest with his best lap time at 2’33:147s giving him the advantage needed to stay ahead of the others during the race. At the second fastest spot was Rakshith Dave of CRA Motorsports India with his best lap time at 2’35:103s followed by Ke Huan Ni with his best lap time at 2’35:412s. It was a strong battle between trio Izrul, Haikal and Rakshith who went on to battle competitively during the race. Izrul was seen taking control of the troop while behind him, the riders battled to manage their positions. Throughout the race, Izrul remained calm and composed and he went on to disengage from the pressure behind him. Rakshith and Haikal who made good lap time in the free practice sessions this weekend struggled to move ahead of the Izrul. On the last lap, Izrul managed his machine with the right techniques and glided towards the finish line first at 20’47:024s. Commenting on the race, Izrul said, “It was a good fight today from the beginning until the end. I was able to stay consistent in the front troop. I did not have much competition or pressure from the back troop. The machine has also been in a good condition so I was able to give my best. For tomorrow’s race, I will definitely give my best shot and hope to repeat the same performance like today. I want to be at the podium therefore, there can be no mistakes.” Taking the second fastest spot was Md Nur Haikal of HJ Racing Team, clocking in at 20’53:139s. SYAZRAS, CONFIDENT AT SEPANG

Round 3 of the Malaysia Superbike Championship took place today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Md Shahrol Syazras of Malaysia marked the fastest today in Race 1 of the Honda CBR250RR Challenge Cup race category. This morning in the qualifying session, Shahrol Syazras of Malaysia picked up on his performance compared to yesterday in the FP session and made it fastest at 2’31:207s. Darwisy of Malaysia clocked in second fastest with his best lap time at 2’31:715s. At third fastest was Nguyen Duch Thanh of Vietnam with his best lap time at 2’32:853s. The battle between Syazras, Darwish and Duch Thanh in Race 1 was never-ending as the trio fought to maintain their positions. As the race picked up, Darwish came into lead position with Syazras and Duch Thanh trailing closely at P2 and P3 respectively. However, as the one lap after the other was closed, the battle was more evident between Darwish and Syazras who kept pressuring his contender before finally taking over. Darwish was not happy and went on to challenge Syazras. On the final lap, Syazras went on to maintain his momentum, careful not to make mistakes and although Darwish attempted to make his move. Syazras went on to complete the race first at 20’22:021. Commenting on the race, Syazras said, “The race today went very well in my opinion and I am pleased with the end result. It was tough for sure, especially in the beginning but I tried to remain consistent throughout the race. I only stayed focused and made sure that I was mentally strong. The machine had no issues and it was a smooth ride, frankly. Of course, the ultimate rivals are Darwish and Duch Thanh. They are equally consistent and strong on the scene. For tomorrow’s race, I will maintain being calm and do my best.” Taking the second fastest spot was Ahmad Darwish of Malaysia at 20’22:256s. SHAFIQ WORKED HIS MOVES

Round 3 of the Malaysia Superbike Championship took place today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Md Shafiq Ezzariq of Welly Racing triumphed today in Race 1 of the Berjaya Sompo YAMAHA Y16ZR Race MasterClass race category. During the qualifying session this morning, Qayyum of New Chen Motorsports was once again in full form as he went on with great composure to make it fastest with his best lap time at 2’48:290s. At second fastest was Syukran Aizat of Soon Chye with his best lap time at 2’50:048s. Arash Tsunami of XL Motor made it third fastest with his best lap time at 2’50:052s. During the race earlier, all riders were in full form as they went on to make the most of it. However, striking among the troop was Adam Haikal who took lead for a moment at turn one before Qayyum found a way ahead of him. By the end of lap 1 though, Arash Tsunami was seen taking lead momentarily before the troop swamped in on him. The 6-lap battle was never a bore as riders of various competency and calibre fought in the exchange of positions. With another three laps to go, Qayyum and Shafiq Ezzariq emerged among the frontliners. It was not an easy feat with the Y16ZR machine and the simple fact that all riders are potential winners in this race category. But, one rider who has proven his abilities this time around was Shafiq Ezzariq who squeezed his way towards victory at 17’39:732s. Commenting on the race, Shafiq Ezzariq said, “First of all, I am thankful to have won today. During the race earlier, I wanted to enjoy the race and not pressure myself too much. It was only towards the end of the race that I tried to maintain my position among the top five riders. On the last lap, I found an opportunity to strike and I took advantage of it. I am really happy for the win today.” Taking the second spot on the podium was Md Aliff Daniel of Hock Liong Motor Racing at 17’39:765s. KASMA TAKING LEAD

Round 3 of the Malaysia Superbike Championship began today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Kasma Daniel Kasmayuddin of YAMAHA Gen Blu Racing Team ASEAN marked the fastest today in the free practice session, combined in the MSBK1000 A race category. In FP1 earlier today, Kasma Daniel marked fastest with his best lap time at 2’07:900s. Azroy Hakeem of Boon Siew Honda Racing Team made it second fastest with his best lap time at 2’08:566s. At third fastest was Azlan Shah of Horizon Racing Team with his best lap time at 2’09:267s. In FP2, Azroy Hakeem emerged fastest with his best lap time at 2’27:221s followed by Azlan Shah with his best lap time at 2’28:330s. Third fastest was Hongyan Chen with his best lap time at 2’44:710s. The evening concluded with Kasma Daniel being the fastest with his best lap time at 2’07:900s. Kasma may have missed out on FP2 however his lap time in FP1 was good enough to keep him ahead of his competitors for the time being. Kasma currently is in the running for the overall championship title and holds 52 points more than his closest contender, Azlan Shah. Kasma took four wins last season and another four podiums which awarded him with the championship title. Taking the second fastest spot was Azroy Hakeem with his best lap time at 2’08:566s. PROMISING OUTCOME FOR MING CHEN

Round 3 of the Malaysia Superbike Championship began today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Hsuan Ming Chen of Dream Team marked the fastest today in the free practice session, combined in the MSBK1000 B race category. In FP1 that was held earlier in the noon today, Ming Chen clocked in fastest with his best lap time at 2’14:093s followed by Radzi Omar of FGRT (Fauzi Gan Racing Team) with his best lap time at 2’15:493s. Wei Kuo of Dream Team made it third fastest with his best lap time at 2’18:003s. In FP2, Chee Yen of Mobilub Suzuki Racing Team clocked in fastest with his best lap time at 2’42:934s followed by Radzi Omar of FGRT (Fauzi Gan Racing Team) with his best lap time at 2’44:490s. Taking third fastest was Qing Rong with his best lap time at 2’44:781s. Ming Chen concluded today’s FP session combined fastest with his best lap time at 2’14:093s. The Taiwanese rider who rides aboard the BMW1000RR is no stranger to the MSBK scene and has been performing competitively since his entry in Round 2 He has definitely showcased his abilities in his riding techniques and in managing his machine throughout the day despite the wet condition. Ming Chen currently holds a total of 31 points. Taking the second fastest in the FP combined was Md Radzi Omar of FGRT (Fauzi Gan Racing Team) with his best lap time at 2’15:493s. HELMI AIMS FOR HAT-TRICK

Round 3 of the Malaysia Superbike Championship began today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Md Helmi Azman of Boon Siew Honda Racing Team marked the fastest today in the free practice session, combined in the MSBK600 race category. In FP1 that was held this morning, Helmi Azman marked fastest with his best lap time at 2’11:474s. Hakim Danish of SIC Racing clocked in second fastest with his best lap time at 2’11:484s followed by Chih Ying with his best lap time at 2’17:431s. In FP2, Hakim Danish made it the fastest with his best lap time at 2’15:552s. Helmi Azman took the second fastest spot with his best lap time at 2’18:917s. Idlan Hakimi of Boon Siew Honda Racing Team made it third fastest with his best lap time at 2’22:193s. The fastest for the day was Helmi Azman with his best lap time at 2’11:474s. He said, “This weekend, I don’t think I will have as much of a challenge as the last two rounds in the presence of my teammate, Khairul. He won’t be racing this weekend. However, the other person that I think I have to be more aware and careful of is Hakim Danish. He is quite competitive as we would have noticed from his performances so far. In terms of the machine, there is not much of a difference. We just got back from ARRC and I think I have enough mileage for the weekend. I have a feeling that the weekend would be a wet weekend but that’s an advantage for me. I like the wet conditions and I am pretty confident about riding on a wet circuit. I am looking forward to a hat-trick. That is my aim for this weekend.” Taking the second fastest spot was Hakim Danish with his best lap time at 2’11:484s.
