Round 4 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Can Asyaff Zaquan make a grand finish and bag the championship title in the BERJAYA SOMPO YAMAHA R15M RACE ELITES? With a total of 49 points in hand, Asyaff currently takes lead on the scoreboard with a 12 and 13-point difference from his closest contenders Ahmad Iqram Danish and Md Aqil Danial respectively. While Asyaff may have the advantage of taking lead, both the rivals have showcased their competitive side in the previous round with the latter taking a win and the former a podium-finish in Race 2 where Asyaff concluded fourth. Considering the close rivalry between the trio, it may not be as easy for Asyaff who has to keep up with the game-plan – being a champion. Asyaff may not have made a cut on the podium just yet throughout the season however being the chart-topper may just be the boost he needs to accelerate further. The question is, can Asyaff overcome the challenges of his rivals, the complexities of the circuit ground and the dexterity of his rivals to claim the big win at the season opener? Commenting on the race, Asyaff said, “I will try my best to finish second on the podium and also maintain my position. It is not going to be easy but I will try my best. The circuit ground is difficult to tackle, more so in a race category that is highly competitive. But I like it because it has a technical corner that is challenging and also a hilly area. The contenders are all very close, which makes the outcome quite unpredictable. I will do my best in both races and hopefully, I can keep up with a consistent pace and momentum throughout the race.” “My current contenders are both very strong and I know that they will inject as much pressure as they can to keep the competition stiff. Riding aboard the R15M machine is similar to riding the underbone machine in terms of competitiveness. But of course, this machine has a tank which means, riding techniques have to suit the body of the machine. For now, I am quite comfortable riding the machine but of course, there is so much more to learn and improve. I have to strategize from the very beginning till the end to ensure that I stay among the front troop.” In terms of preparation, Asyaff said, “I have been doing a lot of training aboard the machine and I have also been building up on my physique, clocking in gym time persistently for the coming round. So, right now, I just hope that apart from doing well and having a perfect machine condition, I will also have luck on my side. For next season, I have no plans as yet but I am hoping that I could participate in MSBK once again.”
Round 4 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Can Qayyim Razin Razali of HORIZON RACING TEAM repeat his victorious moves at the season finale of the MSBK250 B race category. Highly-competitive and strikingly skilled, Qayyim replicated his double-win act from Round 2 in Round 3 when he took home yet another Weekend Champion title. But again, that doesn’t come as a surprise considering his double-win in Round 1 too. Qayyim has definitely mastered the techniques and re-defined the benchmark for the MSBK250 B race category. With six wins to his name, the only expectation is nothing but a double-win before the curtains close and unless there is an encounter with an unfortunate incident, Qayyim definitely has what it takes to make it. Commenting on the race, Qayyim said, “I believe that my riding skills, experience and overall fitness have helped me come this far. These are essential in racing for a rider and maintaining a good help and enhancing my riding techniques over time have really helped me stay consistent and perform my best in all the races. The MSBK250 B race category, although it runs concurrently with the A group, has been a great platform for me to continuously improve. I am given the opportunity to fight alongside professional riders – which consequently helped me grow further beyond my boundaries.” “Currently, my closest rival would be Carlsen Solis. He has a good pace and is highly competitive. He is definitely one that I have to keep my eyes on during the race. Of course, there are the other riders as well so, the most important thing is to stay focused despite the rivalries so that I can minimise errors. My goal right now is to win over the weekend once again but at the same time, I would also like to progressively improve and work towards becoming a professional rider.” In terms of preparations, Qayyim said, “I’ve been focused on becoming stronger physically and mentally. I also make sure that I maintain good team work and communication with my mechanic to ensure everything runs smoothly. So far, I have managed to take the weekend champion title from Round 1 to Round 3. The next goal would be to secure the overall championship title. I want to compete in the MSBK250 A race category and hopefully, next year, I would be able to find a spot in it and compete with at a different level of competency and rivalry.”
Race 2 of Round 3 in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP saw Azroy Hakeem Anuar of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA withstand relentless pressure to secure a stunning victory in the MSBK1000 A category at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. From the race start, Azroy surged into the lead with Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MALAYSIA glued to his tail, pushing hard to force an early error. Behind the leading duo, Azroy’s teammate Muhammad Zaqhwan Zaidi and Adam Norrodin of AMI SUZUKI MOTORSPORT battled closely for third. By Lap 2, Adam muscled past Zaqhwan to chase down the front pair, while at P5, Andi Farid Izdihar of ASTRA HONDA RACING came under pressure from Lachlan Epis of SAVITAR TEAM ASIA. Unfortunately, Lachlan’s charge ended on Lap 3 with a crash. On Lap 4, Andi lit up the timing screens with the fastest lap of the race at 2’07.588s, gradually closing the gap to the leading pack. Meanwhile, Kasma unleashed the top speed of the day at 291.1km/h, shadowing Azroy and keeping the fight alive. By Lap 6, Azroy remained firmly in control, fending off every attempt from Kasma, while Zaqhwan reclaimed third from Adam to re-establish the Honda duo at the sharp end. The final lap delivered pure drama as Kasma launched multiple overtaking attempts, but Azroy held his ground with ice-cool composure. In a nail-biting sprint to the finish line, Azroy crossed first at 21’23.822s, with Kasma just 0.443s adrift at 21’24.265s. Zaqhwan completed the podium in third at 21’25.957s. Azroy said, “The race conditions today were extremely hot, which was exactly what I wanted, but I wasn’t able to deliver my best performance in terms of lap times, as I couldn’t hit the 2’06 pace here. I’ll need to review what we were lacking this time, but regardless, I’m grateful to my team for all their hard work. We need to keep this momentum going and prepare strongly for Round 5 of the ARRC here at Sepang.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Raudhatul’s composure and strategy paid off as he climbed to second at 23’14.681s, just edging out Kamarul, who completed the podium at 23’14.731s. Thanks to his consistent results from both Race 1 and Race 2, Raudhatul was crowned Weekend Champion, underlining the importance of consistency in the championship fight. Raudhatul shared, “The race was really intense. My strategy was very simple, wait until the last lap, look for the right line, and make my move. In the final two to three laps, I stayed calm and conserved myself, then on the last lap, I launched the attack and it paid off.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Race 2 of Round 3 in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP witnessed an emphatic comeback by Muhd Helmi Azman of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA, who stormed to victory in the MSBK600 class at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. From the race start, Muhd Izam Ikmal Izamli of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MALAYSIA got off the line strongly to seize the early lead. But it didn’t take long before Helmi made a bold move to overtake and establish himself at the front, with teammate, Khairul Idham Pawi holding third. The trio quickly pulled away from the chasing group, building a 3-second gap by Lap 2. The early laps delivered thrilling exchanges as Izam and Helmi swapped positions several times, but Helmi soon began to showcase his superior pace. On Lap 3, he set the fastest time at 2’12.490s, retaking the lead before clocking yet another blistering effort of 2’11.679s on Lap 5. By mid-race, Helmi had carved out a commanding advantage, leaving Izam and Khairul locked in a fierce battle for second place. Their duel reached fever pitch on Lap 8, with both riders overtaking each other at nearly every turn, delivering a nail-biting fight to the chequered flag. At the front, Helmi crossed the finish line unchallenged in 22’07.363s to claim a statement win. Behind him, the fight for second went down to the wire, with Izam prevailing over Khairul by just 0.076s, finishing in 22’16.202s against Khairul’s 22’16.278s. Helmi expressed, “The race today was quite tough. This week we didn’t get the chance to try out any proper settings, and even during the race the bike adjustments were still far from ideal. My target was to run a 2’10 pace, but I could only manage 2’11. I couldn’t push any harder, so I just focused on maintaining my pace. Early on, Izam gave me a good fight, but I knew I had the pace, so I stayed calm and managed the situation. Above all, I want to thank my team for working so hard this week, especially after my crash yesterday. Today’s result was my way of redeeming that disappointment. I’ll take the experience from this race and carry it forward into the next one.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Race 2 of Round 3 in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP saw the MSBK250 A class deliver another thrilling contest at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, where Ahmad Afif Amran of SUPERFAST JRT X RAPIDO emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle. From the race start, Afif wasted no time in charging to the front at the first corner, leaving behind his teammate Md Akid Aziz, who was locked in a close fight with Reynaidi Pradana of REY RACING SPEED and Sai Rahil Pillarisetty of TEAM RACR CASTROL POWER1 for the final podium spot. Meanwhile, Irfan Ardiansyah of MAEZTRO NWN SCK HONDA RACING mounted a fierce challenge on Afif, with Akid soon joining the leading group. Adding more drama to the mix, Md Irfan Haykhal Amidi of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA, who had started way back from grid 25, stunned the field by clocking the fastest lap of the race at 2’24.887s to break into the leading pack in P5. By Lap 7, Afif remained firmly in control, though Akid’s attempts to overtake Irfan were quickly shut down as the Indonesian rider defended his ground while still pushing to close in on the leader. The decisive moment came on the final lap when Irfan Ardiansyah suffered a crash, opening the door for Akid to climb into second position. At the front, Afif executed his strategy flawlessly to claim victory in 19’35.739s, followed by Akid in 19’39.588s, while Irfan Haykhal capped off a sensational comeback with a podium finish in 19’42.451s, ahead of Reynaidi and Sai. Afif commented, “Alhamdulillah, I’m grateful to have taken the top spot on the podium today. With yesterday’s unpredictable weather, we didn’t have much data for wet conditions during the race. We managed to gather a bit of data yesterday, but thankfully the weather was good today. At the start, I tried to push, but my tyres didn’t allow me to go all out as the grip felt very loose both front and rear. So, I decided to save my tyres first and only pushed hard in the last three laps. On the final lap, I went all out, and thankfully the strategy worked perfectly, I managed to win today’s race.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. My target was to follow the second group of A class, but honestly, I didn’t expect to win or improve this much, especially since I’ve not been feeling well this week due to a fever. Alhamdulillah, I’m grateful for this result. A big thank you to my team for providing me with a strong machine, and to all the supporters who have been cheering for me.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. The Race 1 of Round 3 in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP’s MSBK1000 A category at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit saw a masterclass performance from Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MALAYSIA, who stormed to a commanding victory in wet conditions. At lights out, Kasma surged to the front and never looked back, immediately pulling clear of his rivals. Behind him, Lachlan Epis of SAVITAR TEAM ASIA and Adam Norrodin of AMI SUZUKI MOTORSPORT initially slotted into contention, before Andi Farid Izdihar of ASTRA HONDA RACING muscled his way into second on Lap 2. By Lap 3, Kasma had already created a 4.899s gap, leaving Andi, Azroy Hakeem Anuar of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA, Adam, and Lachlan locked in a tight four-rider battle for second. As the race progressed, Kasma looked untouchable, stretching his lead to 6.655s over Andi, while Azroy ran a solitary race in third, more than 12 seconds adrift. Kasma crossed the finish line unchallenged in 24’09.017s, securing a dominant victory. Andi completed a strong ride to finish second in 24’11.565s, while Azroy clinched the final podium spot at 24’28.212s. Kasma commented, “I had confidence, but I wasn’t overly confident, because in a race under rainy conditions, victory can come down to luck. If luck is on your side, you can finish the race, if not, you won’t. Just now I tried to stay focused on my riding. I think I was maybe too focused because I wanted to preserve my tyres as the track was drying up. As a result, the tyres were wearing out more, so I needed to control my riding.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP.
