From the outset, Idlan surged off the line, taking the early lead, only to be overtaken immediately at the first turn by the newly crowned champion, Afif. The early laps saw intense battles unfold as Md Akid Aziz of SUPERFAST JRT X RAPIDO held third, followed closely by Md Syamil Amsyar M Iffende and Irfan Ardiansyah of MAEZTRO NWN SCK HONDA RACING TEAM. Lap 4 marked a turning point as Afif reclaimed the top position, with Reynaidi in second and Sai Rahil Pillarisetty of TEAM RACR CASTROL POWER1 climbing to third. Disaster struck on Lap 7 when Syamil crashed out, leaving Afif, Irfan, Akid, Sai, and Reynaidi battling for the podium positions. On final lap, Sai and Afif crashed at Turn 9, removing themselves from podium contention. In a photo-finish, Idlan crossed the line first in 19’37.263s, narrowly ahead of Reynaidi at 19’37.264s, with Akid completing the podium at 19’37.300s. Then, a rider in front of me crashed, which allowed me to move into the lead. In the end, I managed to finish the race in first place today.” Overall, as announced yesterday, Afif crowned the championship title, with 151 points, with teammate Akid second overall at 131 points, and Irfan third with 112 points. The YAMAHA Y16ZR Race MasterClass delivered a breathtaking finale of the season in Race 2 of Round 4 at the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP, with Muhd Afiq Syazanie Muhd Zaini of LKT RACING snatching victory at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. However, it was Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain of BEN HUAT RACING who crowned the Overall Champion of the 2025 season. From lights out, the race erupted into life as Raja Abdurraqib Raja Mohd Norfatihah of T.K.WONG RACING launched off the line perfectly to seize the lead, shadowed by title contender Jebat and Muhd Ali Imran Mohd Dzul Hijri, also of T.K.WONG RACING. Lap 4 saw Ali take charge at the front, while Shah Uzzaifie Adli Shafendi of WELLY WORLD CYCLE RACING TEAM charged into P2. Adding fuel to the frenzy, Ahmad Harith Ikhwan Ahmad Mulana of ALL BIKES lit up the timing tower with the fastest lap of the race at 2’53.792s, rocketing into third. Jebat and Raja stayed entrenched in the podium mix. The final lap was nothing short of electric. With more than 10 riders glued to each other, the top positions swapped repeatedly. The decisive corners sparked maximum drama, culminating in a three-rider crash at the final turn, instantly reshaping the podium fight. In a furious drag to the finish, the top three crossed the line virtually side-by-side, but it was Muhd Afiq Syazanie Muhd Zaini who timed it to perfection, edging ahead by the smallest margin of the season to clinch victory in 17’37.207s, just 0.001 seconds ahead of Adli in second at 17’37.208s. Jebat completed the podium at 17’37.221s, only 0.014s from the win, but with enough points to seal his championship triumph. Afiq said, “The race was intense, and it wasn’t easy for me to get to the front. On the last lap, I pushed as hard as I could. I saw Ali run wide, so I seized the opportunity and went for the gap. I thought I would finish second because I expected someone to slipstream past me, but it turned out I won.” Jebat shared, “Alhamdulillah, thank you to everyone who has always been behind me, especially my parents, my friends who constantly support and pray for me, and my team who never stop motivating me. To my coach, who has been guiding me since I was young and taught me so much. This is my second-year learning from him, and I’m proud to repay his belief in me by bringing home this championship.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Race 1 of Round 4 in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP’s MSBK600 category at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit delivered an intense battle, with Md Izam Ikmal Izamli of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MALAYSIA narrowly claiming victory over Khairul Idham Pawi of HONDA RACING MYS. Despite finishing second, Khairul’s consistent performance throughout the season earned him the overall 2025 MSBK600 championship title. At the start, Izam surged to the front, leading the race ahead of Cao Viet Nam of HONDA RACING VIE TEAM in second, and Khairul Idham Pawi in third. Farres Putra Md Fadhil of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MYS slotted into fourth, with Md Irfan Haykhal Amidi of HONDA RACING MYS in fifth. By Lap 2, Viet Nam overtook Izam to take the lead, while Khairul set the fastest lap of 2’13.044s on Lap 3, moving into second and chasing the Vietnamese rider. Izam remained in third as Irfan crashed out of the race. Lap 4 saw Khairul seize the lead from Viet Nam, with Izam quickly reclaiming second by overtaking from the inside line and closing in on Khairul. Farres maintained a solid fourth position. As rain began to drizzle on Lap 6, the intensity between Khairul and Izam only increased. Both riders exchanged positions multiple times, with Khairul gaining advantage in the corners and Izam pulling ahead on the straights. By the final lap, the two riders were neck-and-neck, trading overtakes nearly every turn. In a breathtaking finish, Izam edged Khairul by just 0.043s to cross the line in 22’25.027s. Khairul completed a hard-fought second in 22’25.070s, while Viet Nam secured third in 22’32.113s. Although finishing second in Race 1, Khairul’s season-long consistency allowed him to collect 127 points, 29 points ahead of Farres, and secure the overall 2025 MSBK600 championship title. Izam said, “Today’s race was incredible. The weather changed mid-race, and I didn’t expect some corners to be wet, which made the track quite slippery. I couldn’t push 100 percent. Khairul also had strong pace here. At the start, I had a gap on him, but I tried to close in. At the same time, I began losing rear tire grip, so I had to adjust my strategy to prevent him from pulling away. The last lap was unbelievable. I didn’t expect him to overtake me in a corner, but Alhamdulillah, I managed to fight back, overtake him, and secure the win today.” Khairul said, “At the start of the race, I had a decent start, but I lost a few positions. I chased back and managed to stay at the front. But when the rain started, I played it safe. By the time Izam caught up behind me, I knew I had an advantage in the corners, but on the straights, I couldn’t match his speed. Nevertheless, I am still grateful to have earned this championship title.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Afif said, “Alhamdulillah, I’m grateful to have won today’s race. I knew the competition would be tough, as the top five riders were practically in one group at the front. I tried to plan my strategy from the start, but I couldn’t break away as they anticipated my moves.
