Afif commented, “In Practice 1 earlier, the weather this morning wasn’t very favourable, it rained heavily. We had to go out anyway to collect data, in case there’s a wet race at the Sepang Circuit, so we would already have data for this weekend. And in Practice 2, I struggled a bit at the beginning, but I worked with the team to adjust the suspension better, and I tried again on the last lap. Alhamdulillah, my lap time improved. However, it’s still not enough if we want to target a competitive race pace. Tomorrow’s qualifying, we’ll try once more with the suspension, because we haven’t been able to get it like we did in Round 1. This time, it’s been quite a struggle.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Qayyim commented, “In Practice 1 earlier, the track was wet and quite slippery, so I tried to adapt as quickly as possible. I wasn’t able to get the setup right in Practice 1, as the suspension didn’t perform well in the wet conditions. In Practice 2, I started to push little by little. With 5 minutes left, I pushed harder and, Alhamdulillah, I managed to set my best time. For tomorrow’s Qualifying and Race, I will do my best. As for the bike, I’ll work on fine-tuning the setup a bit more. Afiq commented, “During Practice 1 this morning, the track was wet due to the rain, so many riders were taking it slow and playing it safe. But I tried to find my lap time in the wet conditions, and it worked in my favour. In Practice 2 this afternoon, the weather turned hot again and many riders were bunched up together, but I focused on maintaining my pace, followed the group from behind and kept pushing. Alhamdulillah, it paid off for me too. For tomorrow, I’ll try to maintain today’s pace, both mentally and physically, because here in Sepang, everyone has a chance to win. As for Race 1, there’s no fixed plan yet, it will depend on how the race unfolds, so we’ll just have to see how things go tomorrow.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. In Practice 2, I started to push because the track had warmed up again. I tried to run at race pace and worked on chasing from the back to the front. I managed to clock a time of 2 minutes 48 seconds, although my target before Qualifying is 2 minutes 47 seconds. Still, it’s a good start for the first day, and I hope the weather will be better tomorrow for Qualifying. For Race 1, my target is to finish in the top 3. If possible, I want to go for first place. The rest depends on how the race plays out tomorrow.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Round 2 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Kasma Daniel of Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia is pumped up to take the challenge a notch up in the MSBK1000 A race category. Currently gracing the top spot in the overall chart, Kasma has always been recognised for his robust moves and swerves which has earned him the championship title in Year 2023. While 2024 was not his year to defend his title, he is back to make up for the loss and to possibly recover his fame in the race category. However, it may not be as easy as it may seem considering the rivalry of his closest contender Azroy Hakeem Anuar of Honda Racing Malaysia who has also been making waves on the circuit ground since the season opener. With a total of 38 points, Azroy is only 7 points away from being an equal with Kasma. What would it take for the Yamaha rider to keep the threat of the Honda rider away? Adding on to the strain between the duo is the entry of Suzuki rider, Adam Norrodin of AMI Suzuki Motorsport who has also been flaunting a side that could potentially shake the current standings. He currently holds a total of 32 points which is not far off from the chart-topper who has bagged a total of 45 points to date. For Kasma, it’s definitely going to be hard work especially if he intends to maintain his position as it is. Commenting on the race, Kasma said, “This season is definitely going to be a tough one especially with the likes of Azroy and Adam in it. With Azroy, we all know what he is capable of at Sepang circuit and with Adam, his results speak itself. The track is something that we are all familiar with. We have all had our fair share of mileage and achievements on the ground. The only thing that would be of concern is the machine condition during the race and of course, luck. So, while it is additional effort on my side, I am quite confident with my current performance, that is if everything goes smoothly on that day.” “The goal for me, of course, it’s about winning. Because, I have been there, done that and achieved it. So, selling myself short of that would not make sense as I know what I am capable of. It is not going to be easy for sure but I am going to do my best to make sure that I have a fighting chance of making it at the top. For now, I am very comfortable with the machine and I know that I can optimise on that. But let’s see how it goes. Keeping my fingers crossed!”
Round 2 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Teuku Irfan Affandy of Triple A Garage is geared up to embrace the challenges in the MSBK1000 B race category. It may not be an easy feat but Teuku put on a bold fight over the weekend in Round 1 to bag the Weekend Champion title with a total of 45 points. Will it be a smooth ride in Round 2? Definitely not especially with the contenders who are equally competitive in the racing series especially the likes of Law Kien Huey. Clearly, what matters most is the ability to retain a consistent lap time while also being confident and consistent throughout the race. Commenting on the race, Teuku said, “For Round 2, I expect the pace to get even tighter. Riders are going to come back stronger, so staying consistent and maintaining mental focus will be crucial. We’ve also got limited time to test and improve the bike, so preparation will be key. Rider like Law Kien Huey got serious pace. But instead of focusing too much on others, I focus on my own performance — lap by lap, session by session. Pressure is part of racing, but I treat it as fuel, not a burden. The bike performed well in Round 1, but there’s always room to improve. We’re still fine-tuning the suspension and electronics to suit different track conditions. With more data and feedback, I’m confident we can unlock a bit more performance and stability.” Speaking about what excites him in MSBK, Teuku said, “What I love about MSBK1000B is the level playing field. It gives privateers and semi-pros a chance to shine and push their limits. The competition is intense but respectful. To improve the series, I’d suggest more media exposure and live streaming — it helps riders gain recognition and opens doors for more sponsorship opportunities. My main aim is to stay consistent, fight for the podium again, and collect valuable points for the championship. Through MSBK, I want to grow as a racer, build my team’s presence, and hopefully inspire more young riders to step into the sport.”
Round 2 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Khairul Idham Pawi of Honda Racing Malaysia is not about to give up and will continue his mission to dominate the MSBK600 race category. It was a brilliant show when Khairul broke away from the pressure of the troop, drew a gap comfortable enough to make minor mistakes along the way without any chances of being struck by his closest contender before taking the win in Race 1. When he replicated the same moves in Race 2, it worked fantastically for him however, a few turns away from taking a double-win, he was hit with an unfortunate incident that left him on the gravel and with zero-points. That gave his closest contender, Anupab Sarmoon of Yamaha Thailand Racing Team, who glided comfortably, a victory-pass and a spot on the top of the overall charts. With Anupab out of the championship in Round 2, Khairul has his roads cleared for victory once again with almost zero rivalry from the other contenders. The Malaysian rider who has ridden aboard a 600cc machine for a long time is not only well-versed with the dynamics of the machine but is also equipped with the right skills and competency needed to overcome any kind of challenges in the race category. Will Khairul be able to take lead of the chart from his current standings at the fourth spot with a total of 25 points? Commenting on the race, Khairul said, “It was truly an unlucky moment for me at Race 2 but that’s part of racing. Of course, I was pissed and I really thought I had it already – a 50-pointer but, luck was not on my side on that day. It’s alright. The most important thing is recognising my ability to practice the best form of racing, rise up once again and withdraw from the troop progressively over the laps which will also be my strategy in the coming rounds. I have a good machine which gives me the added advantage of speeding ahead of the others. Also, the fact that I am quite familiar with the circuit ground and that I’ve done this many times add on to the best part of riding in the championship.” “Three rounds to go and I will do my best to make the most of my time in the championship. Apart from winning the race, it is also part of the plan to gain more mileage that would keep me worked out for other championships. My goal for the coming round is to hope that luck will be on my side moving forward so that I can keep banking in 25 points in all races. I want to take the championship title and hopefully while having fun riding, I would also be able to inject the right kind of pressure to the contenders.”
Round 2 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Qayim Razin Razali of Horizon Racing Team is pumped up in keeping the winning momentum in the MSBK250 B race category. It was definitely a tough show in the MSBK250 B race category but Qayim pulled out his best shots to score a double-win and the Weekend Champion title. The Malaysian rider went on to showcase his competency and ability to withstand the challenges that came along with the race category. With three more rounds to go, it takes a lot of courage, strength and confidence to keep the momentum going. Will the rider be able to present a similar show in the coming rounds? Commenting on the race, Qayim said, “One of the biggest challenges is racing alongside riders from Group A. While I’m focused on leading Group B, I’m also navigating battles with faster, more experienced riders. It’s a mental and physical test to stay sharp, hold my position and push my own limits, especially in a competition where every second counts. My bike is performing at its peak and right now, I feel like my machine is an extension of myself and that’s a massive advantage. As for disadvantages, every setup has room for improvement but we’re constantly fine-tune to stay competitive.” “Racing in the MSBK250 B category is a thrill! It’s also a huge learning opportunity as every lap teaches me more about racing lines, body positioning and strategy. The competition is intense though but that’s the best part of racing. In my opinion, Kabilesh from India and Carlsen Solis from the Philippines are my toughest rivals. They both have more track time and experience which makes them strong benchmarks for me. I’m using this as motivation and I’ll do everything I can to stay close, learn from them and raise my level throughout the race weekend. My mission is clear: I want to win the overall title in Group B and claim the title of Weekend Warrior Champion. That’s what I’m working toward every session.”
NO TIME TO WASTE FOR ADIE Round 2 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will take place at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Md Adie Putra Sukarno of Welly Assorted Rawang Racing Team will buck up further to retain his position in the Berjaya Sompo R15M Race Elites race category. With 40 points in hand, Adie currently rakes it at the highest spot in the overall charts but what are the chances in maintaining his spot with a bunch of aggressive and bold riders waiting to strike? Md Izam Ikmal of GTMax and Md Izzat Zaidi of TME Racing, both who took a win each in the season opener are only 2-points and 8-points shy respectively from stealing the show. It’s not going to be an easy feat for Adie but at the same time, he is also one who could and would fight competitively with his closest contenders. With 30 participants in the racing series, it is not one that is easy to dominate. The rivalry is quite extensive especially with most riders coming from a strong racing background. Adie himself holds quite a reputation in the national racing championship especially during his time in the one-make series before graduating and taking a leap into the CP125 race category. Having said that, he is definitely equipped with the right skills and riding techniques. The only thing that matters is strategizing and hitting it right on time. Commenting on the race, Adie said, “For me, the ride is not as easy but what matters most is the ability to stay focused and being consistent throughout the race. I will have to achieve a lap time that showcases improvements and with that, it would help me understand my competence level on a progressive basis. I will try my best to enhance my performance, work on eliminating limitations and build my fitness level, physically and mentally so that I can maintain my position in each race.” “The competition is quite strong from other contenders and of course, my riding techniques has to be good to compete competitively with them. Every one of them has their own strengths and weakness, undoubtedly. They all come with strong backgrounds and experience. In terms of the machine, there is not much difference from the underbone machine that I am used to riding however, body positioning is key in optimising the performance. This season, my target is to make it to the podium in all the races and hopefully, I will be able to achieve it.”
The opening round of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP was held at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Azroy Hakeem Anuar of Honda Racing Malaysia celebrated his comeback by winning Race 2 in the MSBK1000 A race category. During Race 2, Azroy was aggressive as he took the lead, with his teammate Md Helmi Azman and Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia closely trailing behind. On lap 3, Kasma overtook the top spot, with Azroy following in pursuit. At P3, Helmi set the fastest lap time of 2’06:669s at a top speed of 291.9 km/h, attempting to close the gap on Kasma and Azroy. Kasma pushed harder, setting an incredible lap time of 2’06:647s. However, on lap 7, Helmi crashed at turn 15, ending his podium hopes. Kasma held his position, under pressure from Azroy. On the final lap, Azroy delivered an impressive performance, overtaking Kasma to win the race with a time of 21’15:889s. Azroy said, “Yesterday, in Race 1, we faced brake issues and couldn’t make it to the podium. Alhamdulillah, today there were no issues with my bike. During the race, I intentionally let Kasma lead as his pace was strong. He had a gap of 0:100s towards the end, so I decided to conserve my energy and attack only on the last lap, and my strategy paid off.” Kasma finished in second place with a time of 21’16:507s, and Adam Norrodin of AMI SUZUKI MOTORSPORT took third with a time of 21’24:132s. PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit and Two Wheels Motor Racing would like to express our heartfelt thank you to AEON Credit (M) Berhad for the support rendered this weekend during AEON CREDIT MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship.
