JEBAT TOOK CONTROL

The YAMAHA Y16ZR Race MasterClass category at Round 3 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP got underway today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, with Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain of BAN HWA MOTORSPORT emerging as the fastest overall in the combined practice sessions. In Practice 1, it was Muhd Ali Imran Mohd Dzul Hijri of TAKONG RACING who set the early pace, clocking 3’09.282s to lead the session. Ahmad Muizzudin Ahmad Nizam of KSENG MOTOR followed closely in second with a time of 3’09.614s, while Jebat settled for third at 3’09.663s. Practice 2 saw a major shift in momentum as Jebat stormed to the top with a blistering 2’56.817s lap, putting him firmly in control of the combined timesheets. Shah Putra Mohammad Fadhil of LKT RACING placed second with 2’57.570s, while Raja Abdurraqib Raja Mohd Norfatihah of HK MOTOR took third with a 2’57.960s lap. With the combined practice results, Jebat secured the top spot, followed by Shah Putra and Raja Abdurraqib. The competition remained tight with less than 1.3 seconds separating the top five riders. Jebat shared, “Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly today. The weather was quite good in the afternoon for Free Practice 2, but during Free Practice 1 it rained, so I couldn’t put in lap times like in Round 2, especially since there were many new riders. But I can expect them to fight with me tomorrow. Even if I get pole position in Qualifying 1, it doesn’t guarantee I’ll be ahead or win. Still, I will keep fighting tomorrow.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. In Free Practice 1 it rained, I tried to put in lap times but could only manage P3. In Free Practice 2, I tried again and Alhamdulillah I got P1. CARLSEN AGAINST THE ODDS

At just 15 years old, Carlsen Jacob Solis has already proven that chasing dreams knows no borders. The SSC – HONDA PHILIPPINES – GS BATTERY RACING TEAM rider is not only holding his ground in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP, but thriving, sitting third overall after two rounds. What sets him apart is more than raw talent. It’s his extraordinary commitment. While most riders train close to home, Carlsen flies back and forth between the Philippines and Malaysia, sacrificing time and comfort to learn under Malaysian ace Md Ramdan Rosli. For Carlsen, the decision to train under Ramdan was a logical yet strategic move. “Since I am competing in MSBK, it made sense to be coached by a Malaysian rider who is also internationally renowned. He can share with me not only his mastery of the local tracks here in Malaysia but also his international experience,” he explained. Such dedication is no small feat for a teenager. Flying across countries just to train requires resilience beyond his years, but Carlsen remains unfazed. “My dream to reach and excel on the international stage is my biggest drive. It keeps me going despite the difficulties and challenges of training abroad,” he shared. Under Ramdan’s guidance, Carlsen has discovered a coaching style that pushes him to grow in ways he had not experienced before. “Coach Ramdan has a very focused approach to training. He meticulously guides me section by section and compares data to help me achieve results,” he said. Among the many lessons, one stands above the rest. And it has shaped Carlsen not just as a rider, but as a person. “Patience and trusting the process, because success doesn’t happen overnight,” Carlsen said. Under the guidance of Coach Ramdan, he has embraced the philosophy that true progress is built gradually. Every lap and every training session adds up, reinforcing the importance of long-term growth over instant results. He is also acutely aware of how different his development might have been had he stayed home. “Training on world-class race tracks has contributed a lot to my development. Back home, training keeps me active, but abroad, it truly helps me improve,” he noted. Now, with Round 3 of MSBK 2025 taking place this weekend, Carlsen is focused on continuing his momentum and proving himself among the very best in the MSBK250 B class. “My main target for Round 3 is to match and beat my personal best time, and to battle with the leaders in my category. I will give my very best this round,” he affirmed. Looking further ahead, the Filipino rider’s vision is crystal clear, but his heart remains tied to the MSBK paddock. “In a few years, I want to see myself competing on the world stage, but I will definitely come back to MSBK,” he said.

VIET NAM IS EXCITED FOR THE COMING ROUND

Round 3 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Cao Viet Nam plans to make the most of his experience in the MSBK600 race category. The Vietnamese rider is not a stranger in the MSBK racing scene. He first made his appearance in the Honda CBR250 Challenge back in 2023 for one round before returning to embrace bigger challenges in the MSBK600 race category this season. While his exposure may have been slightly different before, he is set for not only a new benchmark this season but has also aced it well enough for a debutante in the race category. Viet Nam currently sits second in the overall standings with a total of 69 points after Round 2 and just 6 points away from the chart-topper, Khairul Idham Pawi of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA. Throughout the four races, Viet Nam missed out on only one podium-finish and although he has not hit the 25-pointer just yet, his achievements throughout this season have been more than exemplary for a newbie in the race category. Will Viet Nam be able to celebrate a win in the race category? The contention is definitely strong especially with the likes of not just Khairul but his fellow teammate Irfan Haykal as well as Farres Putra of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MALAYSIA but with Viet Nam’s enhanced performance, he might just find a way to strike. Viet Nam said, “For me, the speed makes a whole lot of difference. I have not raced with a machine as fast as this. So, this experience gives me a very new perspective overall. It is quite exciting as I also have to adapt to different riding techniques. It is a lot of learning and practicing. For me, my closest contender would be Irfan Haykhal because he has a similar machine to mine and he is also competing in the AP250 race category of ARRC. So, the contention between us, I would say is pretty much the same.” “One of the things I do to keep track of my performance by cross-checking my outcome with my round-to-round target. I have a lot to learn and a lot to prepare for the future. To me, MSBK is a great platform that serves the growth and interest of motorsports enthusiast and from here, I have been able to not just practice but also achieve a result that keeps me motivated. My main goal is to improve my lap time, manage the machine better and pick up techniques that would work best.”

ABDURRAQIB, BELIEF BEYOND SIZE

At just a young age, Raja Abdurraqib Raja Mohd Norfatihah has already made his mark in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Standing out not only for his talent but also for his small physique, Abdurraqib has turned what many may see as a limitation into one of his greatest strengths on track. In Round 2 at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, Abdurraqib stunned the field with a commanding performance, securing victory in Race 2. That moment, he said, was the result of self-belief and composure. “In the final laps, I focused on controlling my bike as best as I could. I had confidence that I could win, and that belief carried me to the chequered flag,” he recalled. For Abdurraqib, being one of the smallest riders on the grid has proven to be an advantage, particularly in rolling speed and on long straights where his lighter frame gives him an edge. “My size helps me carry rolling speed and gives me an advantage on the straights. It’s something I’ve learned to use to my benefit.” Still, the road is not without challenges. Competing against older and bigger riders forces him to dig deeper, sharpen his skills, and fight harder on the circuit. “Racing against older and stronger riders is always a challenge. With my smaller physique, I need to be more aggressive and focus on controlling the bike perfectly to stay competitive,” he said. Preparation, both physical and mental, plays a vital role in his growth as a rider. Abdurraqib ensures he enters every race weekend ready to perform at his maximum. “Each week before a race, I commit to intensive fitness and training, making sure I stay in good condition and avoid injury. I also prepare myself mentally so that when I race, I can give my very best,” he shared. As Round 3 of MSBK 2025 gets underway this weekend, Abdurraqib is determined to keep the momentum going and once again fight for the podium. “My goal is to do my best and aim for the top step, while focusing on executing my race strategy well. To all the fans, please keep supporting and praying for me,” he urged. Looking further ahead, the young rider added, “I will continue to give my best and work hard in the years to come. This is just the beginning for me.”

AFIF AIMS TO ENHANCE HIS PERFORMANCE

Round 3 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Ahmad Afif Amran of SUPERFAST JRT X RAPIDO will go all out to retain his position at the top spot in the MSBK250 A race category. In Round 1, he made it to the podium twice at the second spot but in Round 2, he was unstoppable when he dominated the circuit ground and swiped a double-win. With a total of 99 points, he is 13-points away from being defeated by the next rider in line; a trick he may not possibly fall into unless he is challenged by a faulty machine and a bad luck. Afif who has been in the racing scene for a long time has proven his calibre over the years and while he may have gone out of the lime-light in the last two seasons, he is definitely making a comeback this season with a visibly enhanced performance. Riding aboard a 250cc machine is not a new experience for the Terengganu bred rider who is famously known for his outstanding performance aboard the 150cc machine, especially in the local national championship. Afif has gained experiences previously on tank machines and while it was not his strong suit at that time, he has made some remarkable improvements since his participation in MSBK250 A this season. However, the challenges still remain and with a number of strong contenders in the entry list, it’s all about strategizing to ensure the position remains. According to Afif, “My team has gotten a good data last season and we have been utilising it to optimise our machine performance for this season. The outcome has been good so far as we are able to hit our target progressively. I prefer the 250cc machine compared to the 150cc because the lower cc requires quick thinking and strategizing during the race whereas the 250cc has got a lot to do with the machine and the rider’s stamina during the race. I think I am more fitted for the 250cc and so far, I have been enjoying the ride.” “My biggest challenge this season or rather rivalry comes from Irfan Ardiansyah who is quite an experienced rider compared to me. He is also very smart when racing and he knows his way around especially in managing the machine and the circuit. All riders in the MSBK250 A are excellent. So, one slight mistake can make it tough to be in the front troop. The goal right now is to touch up on my riding techniques and my performance so that I can enhance further in this race category however my main aim is to continuously compete competitively throughout the season so that I can maintain among the front troop.”

“SEPANG CHALLENGES ME TO ADAPT!” – PIN-HUNG

Round 3 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Huang Pin-Hung of TRIPLE A GARAGE is pushing beyond his limits to achieve better results in the MSBK250 B race category. In Round 1, the Taipei rider scored double-podium at third spot after battling the highly competitive stride. But that wasn’t enough for him. He bucked up, fine tuned his handling techniques and picked up pace before scoring another double-podium in Round 2 but with a notch up at the second spot. Will Pin-Hung be able to challenge and defeat two-time Weekend Champion, Qayyim Razin of HORIZON RACING TEAM in the next round? It may seem like a tough shot but it isn’t impossible and with the improvements made by the Pin-Hung, the only next move should be the top spot. Commenting on the race, Pin-Hung said, “I’m really happy to move up from third to second place. But talking about the challenges in the MSBK 250B, the hardest part is that I still have a gap compared to the first place. Closing that gap will be the biggest challenge. My machine is in a very good condition and it gives me great confidence but after round 2, I realised that there are still some areas to improve. So, together with the team, we will keep working on the setup to make it better. Both, the speed and riding techniques can always be improved. But for me, the most important part right now is to improve my riding techniques. With better techniques, I can manage the race pace more consistently and find better pace.” “My closest contender are riders with very similar lap times as mine -#25 Jocob Solis. We are always battling on the track, overtaking each other and pushing each other to be better. That competition is what helps me improve every race. I chose to race in MSBK because it’s one of the top championships in Asia, and many strong riders come here. Racing here helps me gain international race experience and also get used to world-class tracks like Sepang. This is an important step toward my future goals, like Asia Road Racing Championship, Asia Talent Cup or even Moto3 one day. Sepang Circuit is a very interesting track. There are so many different types of corners, and some of them are really tricky. But I like this track a lot because it challenges me to adapt and learn every time I ride here. I wish I could have more opportunity to ride in Sepang Circuit!”

JEBAT HOPES TO CHALLENGE AKID

Round 3 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Can Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain defeat the chart-topper in the YAMAHA Y16ZR RACE MASTERCLASS? Currently sitting at the second spot overall with a total of 48 points, 42-points shy of the top spot, it seems almost impossible for Jebat to topple Akid Shah and take over the lime-light. After taking a double-win in Round 1 and double-podium with 40 points in Round 2, Akid Shah currently remains unbeatable. Jebat on the other hand scored 16 points in three races, placing him above the rest of the troop after the Penangite. What would it take for Jebat to make it ahead of Akid Shah for once this season? The duo is highly competitive and based on their performance, they are also consistent with their lap time and achievements. It definitely is not easy for Jebat to override the superiority of Akid Shah on Sepang grounds unless he is able to strategize and strike while the iron is hot. This also means that Jebat has to tune up his sensory and be more focused during the race while being prepared for the potential risks ahead. Commenting on the race, Jebat said, “During Round 2, I struggled a little but I managed to get P3 in Race 1 and P2 in Race 2. The competition was stiff especially with riders who are really strong in the racing series. But I still try my best to adapt and fine tune my strategies to stay ahead of the others. Akid Shah is currently leading way ahead with 42-point advantage and perhaps to make it champion may be a tough shot. But, as a rider, the only motivation is the top spot on the podium and that’s what I will try to achieve for the rest of the rounds. My limitations may be in terms of weight and also strategy. Akid Shah is much smaller in size compared to myself which means he has better advantage on the long-straight during the race. I always read his body-language during the free practice sessions to see if I can trace and trail his game-plan.” “The Yamaha Y16ZR is a fantastic machine and excellent for racing. It has a small body structure which makes it light and easy for riders regardless of size to race aboard it. So, I truly enjoy riding it and have found great advantage aboard it. The Sepang circuit is my favourite track however one has to find courage and strength to ride there especially when the riders form a tight group. If we doubt ourselves, then it will be tough to take lead. My only goal at the moment is to make it as champion this season. Not going to be easy, but I am going to try as best as I could.”
