ABDURRAQIB, BELIEF BEYOND SIZE

At just a young age, Raja Abdurraqib Raja Mohd Norfatihah has already made his mark in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Standing out not only for his talent but also for his small physique, Abdurraqib has turned what many may see as a limitation into one of his greatest strengths on track.

In Round 2 at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, Abdurraqib stunned the field with a commanding performance, securing victory in Race 2. That moment, he said, was the result of self-belief and composure.

“In the final laps, I focused on controlling my bike as best as I could. I had confidence that I could win, and that belief carried me to the chequered flag,” he recalled.

For Abdurraqib, being one of the smallest riders on the grid has proven to be an advantage, particularly in rolling speed and on long straights where his lighter frame gives him an edge.

“My size helps me carry rolling speed and gives me an advantage on the straights. It’s something I’ve learned to use to my benefit.”

Still, the road is not without challenges. Competing against older and bigger riders forces him to dig deeper, sharpen his skills, and fight harder on the circuit.

“Racing against older and stronger riders is always a challenge. With my smaller physique, I need to be more aggressive and focus on controlling the bike perfectly to stay competitive,” he said.

Preparation, both physical and mental, plays a vital role in his growth as a rider. Abdurraqib ensures he enters every race weekend ready to perform at his maximum.

“Each week before a race, I commit to intensive fitness and training, making sure I stay in good condition and avoid injury. I also prepare myself mentally so that when I race, I can give my very best,” he shared.

As Round 3 of MSBK 2025 gets underway this weekend, Abdurraqib is determined to keep the momentum going and once again fight for the podium. “My goal is to do my best and aim for the top step, while focusing on executing my race strategy well. To all the fans, please keep supporting and praying for me,” he urged.

Looking further ahead, the young rider added, “I will continue to give my best and work hard in the years to come. This is just the beginning for me.”
