JEBAT TOOK CONTROL
The YAMAHA Y16ZR Race MasterClass category at Round 3 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP got underway today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, with Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain of BAN HWA MOTORSPORT emerging as the fastest overall in the combined practice sessions.
In Practice 1, it was Muhd Ali Imran Mohd Dzul Hijri of TAKONG RACING who set the early pace, clocking 3’09.282s to lead the session. Ahmad Muizzudin Ahmad Nizam of KSENG MOTOR followed closely in second with a time of 3’09.614s, while Jebat settled for third at 3’09.663s.
Practice 2 saw a major shift in momentum as Jebat stormed to the top with a blistering 2’56.817s lap, putting him firmly in control of the combined timesheets. Shah Putra Mohammad Fadhil of LKT RACING placed second with 2’57.570s, while Raja Abdurraqib Raja Mohd Norfatihah of HK MOTOR took third with a 2’57.960s lap.
With the combined practice results, Jebat secured the top spot, followed by Shah Putra and Raja Abdurraqib. The competition remained tight with less than 1.3 seconds separating the top five riders.
Jebat shared, “Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly today. The weather was quite good in the afternoon for Free Practice 2, but during Free Practice 1 it rained, so I couldn’t put in lap times like in Round 2, especially since there were many new riders. But I can expect them to fight with me tomorrow. Even if I get pole position in Qualifying 1, it doesn’t guarantee I’ll be ahead or win. Still, I will keep fighting tomorrow.”
