The YAMAHA Y16ZR Race MasterClass delivered a breathtaking finale of the season in Race 2 of Round 4 at the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP, with Muhd Afiq Syazanie Muhd Zaini of LKT RACING snatching victory at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. However, it was Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain of BEN HUAT RACING who crowned the Overall Champion of the 2025 season. From lights out, the race erupted into life as Raja Abdurraqib Raja Mohd Norfatihah of T.K.WONG RACING launched off the line perfectly to seize the lead, shadowed by title contender Jebat and Muhd Ali Imran Mohd Dzul Hijri, also of T.K.WONG RACING. Lap 4 saw Ali take charge at the front, while Shah Uzzaifie Adli Shafendi of WELLY WORLD CYCLE RACING TEAM charged into P2. Adding fuel to the frenzy, Ahmad Harith Ikhwan Ahmad Mulana of ALL BIKES lit up the timing tower with the fastest lap of the race at 2’53.792s, rocketing into third. Jebat and Raja stayed entrenched in the podium mix. The final lap was nothing short of electric. With more than 10 riders glued to each other, the top positions swapped repeatedly. The decisive corners sparked maximum drama, culminating in a three-rider crash at the final turn, instantly reshaping the podium fight. In a furious drag to the finish, the top three crossed the line virtually side-by-side, but it was Muhd Afiq Syazanie Muhd Zaini who timed it to perfection, edging ahead by the smallest margin of the season to clinch victory in 17’37.207s, just 0.001 seconds ahead of Adli in second at 17’37.208s. Jebat completed the podium at 17’37.221s, only 0.014s from the win, but with enough points to seal his championship triumph. Afiq said, “The race was intense, and it wasn’t easy for me to get to the front. On the last lap, I pushed as hard as I could. I saw Ali run wide, so I seized the opportunity and went for the gap. I thought I would finish second because I expected someone to slipstream past me, but it turned out I won.” Jebat shared, “Alhamdulillah, thank you to everyone who has always been behind me, especially my parents, my friends who constantly support and pray for me, and my team who never stop motivating me. To my coach, who has been guiding me since I was young and taught me so much. This is my second-year learning from him, and I’m proud to repay his belief in me by bringing home this championship.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Race 2 of Round 3 in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP witnessed an electrifying battle in the YAMAHA Y16ZR Race MasterClass at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, where TAKONG RACING’s Muhd Ali Imran Mohd Dzul Hijri emerged victorious in a nail-biting finish. At the race start, Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain of BAN HWA MOTORSPORTS led the pack with Ali Imran and Ahmad Rayyan Qayyum of SCM FACTORY RACING TEAM close behind. By Lap 2, Ali surged past Jebat and immediately attempted to break away from the field. Midway through the race, Ali still held the lead, but Muhd Afiq Syazanie Muhd Zaini of ENG HUAT MOTORSPORT closed the gap and set the fastest lap of 2’54.804s, trailing just 0.116s behind. The two riders exchanged positions multiple times, with Ali responding by clocking an even faster time of 2’54.299s to reclaim control. Their relentless duel created a commanding 5.767s gap ahead of the chasing group. The final lap brought high drama as Jebat, Rayyan, Muhd Aliff Mohd Hafis of E ONE CHONG MOTOR, and Shazrel Aqief Hakimy Sazali of BAN HWA MOTORSPORTS were all caught in a crash that ended their podium hopes. Out in front, Afiq made his move and briefly passed Ali. However, Ali unleashed his strength on the final straight, reclaiming the lead at the line to seal victory with a time of 17’43.667s. Afiq finished just a heartbeat behind at 17’43.779s, while Raja Abdurraqib Raja Mohd Norfatihah of HK MOTOR capitalised on the chaos to secure third place at 17’51.442s. Ali shared, “Alhamdulillah, I’m truly grateful and I want to thank my parents and family for their support. In today’s race, my aim was to create a gap from the second group. In the last two laps, I saw Afiq closing in, so I focused on staying with him. On the final straight, I used my body positioning to make the move and managed to take the win. Alhamdulillah.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Round 3 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP continued with a nail-biting Race 1 in the YAMAHA Y16ZR Race MasterClass at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, where Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain of BAN HWA MOTORSPORT fought through tricky wet conditions to claim victory. As the race began under light rain, Jebat launched strongly to lead the pack, but Muhd Ali Imran Mohd Dzul Hijri of TAKONG RACING immediately challenged, pulling a bold move at the final corner. Jebat responded and reclaimed P1, with Ahmad Muizzudin Ahmad Nizam of KSENG MOTOR in third, followed by Irish Shazwan Mohd Arfan of TIGA-S MOTOSIKAL and Akif Qayyum Rosefendy of PJ WONG MOTOR. On lap 3, Ali snatched the lead once again, while Jebat, determined to fight back, clocked the fastest lap of 3’22.186s. Muizzudin, running third, crashed at the last corner but managed to rejoin in P8. The battle intensified as Jebat and Ali traded places while Irish held steady in P3. Suddenly, Raja Abdurraqib Raja Mohd Norfatihah of HK MOTOR stormed into contention, setting the fastest lap of the race at 3’22.059s. By the closing stages, the four-rider group of Jebat, Ali, Abdurraqib, and Irish had broken away from the rest. The final lap delivered pure drama as the quartet went wheel-to-wheel, but Jebat held firm, powering across the finish line at 20’24.449s. Ali secured second with 20’24.505s, and Abdurraqib completed the podium in third at 20’24.665s. Jebat said, “Today’s race was quite challenging, especially from the new riders. As I mentioned yesterday, they were going to give me a tough fight, and indeed, they pushed me hard right until the end. The weather was rainy too, but Alhamdulillah, even though I lost out on the straights, I managed to make up for it in the corners. Thank you to my mother who always prays for me. In Practice 1, it was Muhd Ali Imran Mohd Dzul Hijri of TAKONG RACING who set the early pace, clocking 3’09.282s to lead the session. Ahmad Muizzudin Ahmad Nizam of KSENG MOTOR followed closely in second with a time of 3’09.614s, while Jebat settled for third at 3’09.663s. Shah Putra Mohammad Fadhil of LKT RACING placed second with 2’57.570s, while Raja Abdurraqib Raja Mohd Norfatihah of HK MOTOR took third with a 2’57.960s lap. With the combined practice results, Jebat secured the top spot, followed by Shah Putra and Raja Abdurraqib. The competition remained tight with less than 1.3 seconds separating the top five riders. Jebat shared, “Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly today. The weather was quite good in the afternoon for Free Practice 2, but during Free Practice 1 it rained, so I couldn’t put in lap times like in Round 2, especially since there were many new riders. But I can expect them to fight with me tomorrow. Even if I get pole position in Qualifying 1, it doesn’t guarantee I’ll be ahead or win. Still, I will keep fighting tomorrow.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Round 3 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Can Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain defeat the chart-topper in the YAMAHA Y16ZR RACE MASTERCLASS? Currently sitting at the second spot overall with a total of 48 points, 42-points shy of the top spot, it seems almost impossible for Jebat to topple Akid Shah and take over the lime-light. After taking a double-win in Round 1 and double-podium with 40 points in Round 2, Akid Shah currently remains unbeatable. Jebat on the other hand scored 16 points in three races, placing him above the rest of the troop after the Penangite. What would it take for Jebat to make it ahead of Akid Shah for once this season? The duo is highly competitive and based on their performance, they are also consistent with their lap time and achievements. It definitely is not easy for Jebat to override the superiority of Akid Shah on Sepang grounds unless he is able to strategize and strike while the iron is hot. This also means that Jebat has to tune up his sensory and be more focused during the race while being prepared for the potential risks ahead. Commenting on the race, Jebat said, “During Round 2, I struggled a little but I managed to get P3 in Race 1 and P2 in Race 2. The competition was stiff especially with riders who are really strong in the racing series. But I still try my best to adapt and fine tune my strategies to stay ahead of the others. Akid Shah is currently leading way ahead with 42-point advantage and perhaps to make it champion may be a tough shot. But, as a rider, the only motivation is the top spot on the podium and that’s what I will try to achieve for the rest of the rounds. My limitations may be in terms of weight and also strategy. Akid Shah is much smaller in size compared to myself which means he has better advantage on the long-straight during the race. I always read his body-language during the free practice sessions to see if I can trace and trail his game-plan.” “The Yamaha Y16ZR is a fantastic machine and excellent for racing. It has a small body structure which makes it light and easy for riders regardless of size to race aboard it. So, I truly enjoy riding it and have found great advantage aboard it. The Sepang circuit is my favourite track however one has to find courage and strength to ride there especially when the riders form a tight group. If we doubt ourselves, then it will be tough to take lead. My only goal at the moment is to make it as champion this season. Not going to be easy, but I am going to try as best as I could.”
Round 2 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP took place at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Raja Abdurraqib Raja Mohd Norfatihah of XYH RACING PROJECT emerged victorious in Race 2 of the YAMAHA Y16ZR Race MasterClass category. At the start, Mohd Akid Mohd Shah Khearul Nisiam of LKT RACING led the charge, but the lead group was tightly packed. Mohd Arrfan Ashraf Mohd Mazlan of TAKONG RACING crashed at Turn 1 in the early battle. Meanwhile, Muhd Al Syafiq Muhd Al Amirul Zaki of SCM FACTORY RACING TEAM and Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain of PS RACING TEAM broke away but were reeled in by the chasing pack. Positions kept changing throughout the race, with Akid, Jebat, and Muhd Fareeq Mohd Faizal of P D BAN HIN RACING staying consistent in the lead group. By mid-race, it was still anyone’s victory to take. On lap 5, Danish Rifqi Yusnizam of KSENG MOTOR crashed at the final turn but managed to continue, losing his podium hopes. On the last lap, Abdurraqib broke away from the slipstream battle and crossed the line to win in 17’43.982s. Akid finished a close second just 0.031s behind at 17’44.013s, with Jebat third at 17’45.293s. Abdurraqib said, “In today’s race, I tried to maintain my position from the start. On the last lap, I made my move to break away and kept my momentum all the way to the finish line. I knew Akid was chasing me down, but I stayed consistent and Alhamdulillah, I won this race.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Race 1 of Round 2 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP unfolded at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit today, where Ahmad Iqram Danish Ahmad Ghazali of CHJ RACING claimed victory in the YAMAHA Y16ZR Race MasterClass category. Earlier today during the qualifying session, Md Akid Md Shah Khearul Nisian of LKT RACING clocked the fastest lap at 2’51.134s, giving him a solid advantage for the race. The second-fastest was Muhd Al Syafiq Muhd Al Amirul Zaki of SCM FACTORY RACING TEAM at 2’51.369s, followed by Muhd Syahmi Aiman Mohd Shafie of HIAP AIK RACING TEAM with a time of 2’52.360s. When the race started, Md Akid Md Shah Khearul Nisian of LKT RACING surged to the front to lead the race, while a large group of riders battled closely behind for the top positions. By lap 3, the race saw constant lead changes as riders fiercely competed for position. Four riders crashed during the intense exchanges. Despite the frequent position changes throughout the race, Akid remained consistently within the front group, demonstrating strong pace and control. On the final lap, the winner was still impossible to predict as the battle intensified and the riders became increasingly aggressive in their attempts to break free. In the end, Iqram crossed the finish line first with a time of 17’48.482s. Akid followed just 0.017s behind at 17’48.499s, while Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain of PS RACING TEAM clinched third place at 17’48.500s. Iqram said, “For me, this was a very intense race. The track is big, the number of riders is large, and everyone has their own strengths and potential. But this is a blessing from God, and I dedicate this as a gift to my late mother who just passed away. I tried to play it safe and stick to my plan, and today, it was my luck. I hope I can keep this momentum in tomorrow’s Race 2.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. In Practice 2, Afiq improved his lap time and maintained at the top spot with the fastest lap time of 2’53.954s, and recorded a top speed of 114.71km/h. Overall, Afiq topped the combined practice results, with Raiyan and Akid rounding out the top three. Afiq commented, “During Practice 1 this morning, the track was wet due to the rain, so many riders were taking it slow and playing it safe. But I tried to find my lap time in the wet conditions, and it worked in my favour. In Practice 2 this afternoon, the weather turned hot again and many riders were bunched up together, but I focused on maintaining my pace, followed the group from behind and kept pushing. Alhamdulillah, it paid off for me too. For tomorrow, I’ll try to maintain today’s pace, both mentally and physically, because here in Sepang, everyone has a chance to win. As for Race 1, there’s no fixed plan yet, it will depend on how the race unfolds, so we’ll just have to see how things go tomorrow.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP.
