On lap 5, Muhd Shafiq Ezzariq of SOON CHONG RACING TEAM made his way to the front and opened a small gap, but was soon overtaken by Qayyum and Izzat. After the final turn, Alif made a smart move to the front and sped past the finish line to claim victory with a time of 20’19.572s. Haziq secured second place at 20’19.733s, and Shafiq completed the podium in third with 20’19.742s. Alif said, “In today’s race, I focused on following the leader first and finding my race pace. Once I found it, I started pushing over the last two laps, catching up with the riders in the front group, one by one. I tried to exit early at the second last turn and stayed close until the final corner. Alhamdulillah, my strategy worked.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. On the third lap, we made a different setup to secure the first place. So far, the setup for today has been excellent. For Qualifying, we will try to maintain the setup from today. The combined results from both practice sessions confirmed Khairul as the fastest overall, with Irfan in second and Farres in third. Khairul commented, “In Practice 1 earlier, the weather was rainy, and my lap time placed me second. I only went out for a few laps to gauge how I’m riding in the wet conditions, as I’m currently struggling a bit in the rain. So, if it rains tomorrow, I’ll know what areas need improvement. In Practice 2, the weather had dried up, which gave me a slight advantage to set a good lap time and work on maintaining consistency for tomorrow’s race. This also serves as preparation for the ARRC race in Japan next week. For tomorrow’s Qualifying, we’ll be changing the rear setup because I struggled with rear suspension grip during Practice 2. We’ll aim to do our best tomorrow.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Afif commented, “In Practice 1 earlier, the weather this morning wasn’t very favourable, it rained heavily. We had to go out anyway to collect data, in case there’s a wet race at the Sepang Circuit, so we would already have data for this weekend. And in Practice 2, I struggled a bit at the beginning, but I worked with the team to adjust the suspension better, and I tried again on the last lap. Alhamdulillah, my lap time improved. However, it’s still not enough if we want to target a competitive race pace. Tomorrow’s qualifying, we’ll try once more with the suspension, because we haven’t been able to get it like we did in Round 1. This time, it’s been quite a struggle.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. I wasn’t able to get the setup right in Practice 1, as the suspension didn’t perform well in the wet conditions. In Practice 2, I started to push little by little. With 5 minutes left, I pushed harder and, Alhamdulillah, I managed to set my best time. For tomorrow’s Qualifying and Race, I will do my best. As for the bike, I’ll work on fine-tuning the setup a bit more. In Race 1 and Race 2, I’ll give it my all and will aim for the podium.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. But I tried to find my lap time in the wet conditions, and it worked in my favour. In Practice 2 this afternoon, the weather turned hot again and many riders were bunched up together, but I focused on maintaining my pace, followed the group from behind and kept pushing. Alhamdulillah, it paid off for me too. For tomorrow, I’ll try to maintain today’s pace, both mentally and physically, because here in Sepang, everyone has a chance to win. As for Race 1, there’s no fixed plan yet, it will depend on how the race unfolds, so we’ll just have to see how things go tomorrow.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. KASMA’S BACK TO DOMINATE

Round 2 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Kasma Daniel of Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia is pumped up to take the challenge a notch up in the MSBK1000 A race category. Currently gracing the top spot in the overall chart, Kasma has always been recognised for his robust moves and swerves which has earned him the championship title in Year 2023. While 2024 was not his year to defend his title, he is back to make up for the loss and to possibly recover his fame in the race category. However, it may not be as easy as it may seem considering the rivalry of his closest contender Azroy Hakeem Anuar of Honda Racing Malaysia who has also been making waves on the circuit ground since the season opener. With a total of 38 points, Azroy is only 7 points away from being an equal with Kasma. What would it take for the Yamaha rider to keep the threat of the Honda rider away? Adding on to the strain between the duo is the entry of Suzuki rider, Adam Norrodin of AMI Suzuki Motorsport who has also been flaunting a side that could potentially shake the current standings. He currently holds a total of 32 points which is not far off from the chart-topper who has bagged a total of 45 points to date. For Kasma, it’s definitely going to be hard work especially if he intends to maintain his position as it is. Commenting on the race, Kasma said, “This season is definitely going to be a tough one especially with the likes of Azroy and Adam in it. With Azroy, we all know what he is capable of at Sepang circuit and with Adam, his results speak itself. The track is something that we are all familiar with. We have all had our fair share of mileage and achievements on the ground. The only thing that would be of concern is the machine condition during the race and of course, luck. So, while it is additional effort on my side, I am quite confident with my current performance, that is if everything goes smoothly on that day.” “The goal for me, of course, it’s about winning. Because, I have been there, done that and achieved it. So, selling myself short of that would not make sense as I know what I am capable of. It is not going to be easy for sure but I am going to do my best to make sure that I have a fighting chance of making it at the top. For now, I am very comfortable with the machine and I know that I can optimise on that. But let’s see how it goes. Keeping my fingers crossed!”

TEUKU IS WELL PREPARED FOR ROUND 2

Round 2 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Teuku Irfan Affandy of Triple A Garage is geared up to embrace the challenges in the MSBK1000 B race category. It may not be an easy feat but Teuku put on a bold fight over the weekend in Round 1 to bag the Weekend Champion title with a total of 45 points. Will it be a smooth ride in Round 2? Definitely not especially with the contenders who are equally competitive in the racing series especially the likes of Law Kien Huey. Clearly, what matters most is the ability to retain a consistent lap time while also being confident and consistent throughout the race. Commenting on the race, Teuku said, “For Round 2, I expect the pace to get even tighter. Riders are going to come back stronger, so staying consistent and maintaining mental focus will be crucial. We’ve also got limited time to test and improve the bike, so preparation will be key. Rider like Law Kien Huey got serious pace. But instead of focusing too much on others, I focus on my own performance — lap by lap, session by session. Pressure is part of racing, but I treat it as fuel, not a burden. The bike performed well in Round 1, but there’s always room to improve. We’re still fine-tuning the suspension and electronics to suit different track conditions. With more data and feedback, I’m confident we can unlock a bit more performance and stability.” Speaking about what excites him in MSBK, Teuku said, “What I love about MSBK1000B is the level playing field. It gives privateers and semi-pros a chance to shine and push their limits. The competition is intense but respectful. To improve the series, I’d suggest more media exposure and live streaming — it helps riders gain recognition and opens doors for more sponsorship opportunities. My main aim is to stay consistent, fight for the podium again, and collect valuable points for the championship. Through MSBK, I want to grow as a racer, build my team’s presence, and hopefully inspire more young riders to step into the sport.”
