AFIF SEIZED THE CONTROL

Race 2 of Round 3 in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP saw the MSBK250 A class deliver another thrilling contest at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, where Ahmad Afif Amran of SUPERFAST JRT X RAPIDO emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle. From the race start, Afif wasted no time in charging to the front at the first corner, leaving behind his teammate Md Akid Aziz, who was locked in a close fight with Reynaidi Pradana of REY RACING SPEED and Sai Rahil Pillarisetty of TEAM RACR CASTROL POWER1 for the final podium spot. Meanwhile, Irfan Ardiansyah of MAEZTRO NWN SCK HONDA RACING mounted a fierce challenge on Afif, with Akid soon joining the leading group. Adding more drama to the mix, Md Irfan Haykhal Amidi of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA, who had started way back from grid 25, stunned the field by clocking the fastest lap of the race at 2’24.887s to break into the leading pack in P5. By Lap 7, Afif remained firmly in control, though Akid’s attempts to overtake Irfan were quickly shut down as the Indonesian rider defended his ground while still pushing to close in on the leader. The decisive moment came on the final lap when Irfan Ardiansyah suffered a crash, opening the door for Akid to climb into second position. At the front, Afif executed his strategy flawlessly to claim victory in 19’35.739s, followed by Akid in 19’39.588s, while Irfan Haykhal capped off a sensational comeback with a podium finish in 19’42.451s, ahead of Reynaidi and Sai. Afif commented, “Alhamdulillah, I’m grateful to have taken the top spot on the podium today. With yesterday’s unpredictable weather, we didn’t have much data for wet conditions during the race. We managed to gather a bit of data yesterday, but thankfully the weather was good today. At the start, I tried to push, but my tyres didn’t allow me to go all out as the grip felt very loose both front and rear. So, I decided to save my tyres first and only pushed hard in the last three laps. On the final lap, I went all out, and thankfully the strategy worked perfectly, I managed to win today’s race.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit played host to another electrifying battle in Race 2 of the MSBK250 B class, as Qayyim Razin Razali of HORIZON RACING TEAM delivered a commanding performance to not only win the race but also clinch the title of Weekend Champion at Round 3 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. From the race start, Qayyim launched himself straight into the lead, immediately distancing himself from the chasing pack of Carlsen Jacob Solis of SSC – HONDA PHILIPPINES – GS BATTERY RACING, Khairul Firdaus Kadzim from Malaysia, and TRIPLE A GARAGE duo Ke Huanni and Zakwan Anas Azizulkhairi. By mid-race, Qayyim’s relentless pace allowed him to build a massive 5-second gap from the rest of the field, leaving no doubts about his control at the front. On Lap 5, Saidatul Zakirah Zairin of LADY BOSS RACING TEAM impressed by overtaking Huanni to climb into fourth place, showcasing her determination against the mixed grid. Qayyim eventually crossed the line unchallenged in 20’00.943s, sealing a dominant victory and capping off Round 3 as the Weekend Champion. Carlsen secured second in 20’37.225s, while Firdaus clinched the final podium spot in 20’44.227s. Qayyim shared, “Today’s race was really intense. My target was to follow the second group of A class, but honestly, I didn’t expect to win or improve this much, especially since I’ve not been feeling well this week due to a fever. Alhamdulillah, I’m grateful for this result. IRFAN CONQUERED WET TRACK

Race 1 of Round 3 in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP brought high drama in the MSBK250 A category at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, with rain-soaked conditions testing both skill and courage. In the end, it was Irfan Ardiansyah of MAEZTRO NWN SCK HONDA RACING who mastered the wet track to secure a brilliant victory. At the start, Ahmad Afif Amran and Md Akid Aziz of SUPERFAST JRT X RAPIDO charged forward, only for Irfan to steal the lead at the first corner. Md Akif Abdullah of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA also quickly joined the front group, setting the stage for an intense battle. By lap 2, Irfan looked the most comfortable in the slippery conditions, leading confidently with Akif in second and Nguyen Ton Anh Phu of HONDA RACING VIETNAM TEAM in third. Afif, meanwhile, slipped down the order after being overtaken by Sai Rahil Pillarisetty of TEAM RACR CASTROL POWER1 and Reynadi Pradana of REY RACING SPEED. The race took a dramatic turn on lap 4 when both Akif and Sai crashed, losing their chance to fight for the podium. This opened the door for Ton Anh Phu and Reynadi to climb into second and third positions behind Irfan. From there, the front trio broke away. Irfan and Ton Anh Phu pushed hard, clocking speeds of 177km/h even on the wet surface, and stretched an 8-second gap over the chasing pack. Behind them, Akid clawed back to fourth and later overtook Reynadi for third, sparking a fierce late-race fight. On the final lap, Reynadi launched one last attack, regaining third from Akid. Up front, Irfan pulled clear to a safe margin, crossing the finish line in 21’37.651s, 3.800s ahead of Ton Anh Phu, who secured second place. Reynadi held on to claim third. Irfan shared, “From the start I wanted to push as much as possible, but I almost had a high side at Turn 4 and slid, so I decided to just keep my own pace and try to stay consistent. In the end, I managed to finish P1. I’m very happy and grateful. Hopefully Race 2 will be even better.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. ZAKIRAH BREAKING BARRIERS

Among the competitive MSBK250 B grid of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP, one rider has been quietly yet powerfully making history. Saidatul Zakirah Zairin of LADY BOSS RACING TEAM is currently the only female rider in the top five overall standings after two rounds, proving that determination, skill, and consistency can break barriers in a sport often dominated by men. For Zakirah, the achievement feels rewarding, but she doesn’t see herself defined solely by gender. “It feels really rewarding to be in the top five overall, especially knowing how competitive the field is. At the same time, I don’t look at it purely as being the only female rider as I see myself first and foremost as a racer. My goal is always to perform at the highest level regardless of gender. That said, I do hope my presence in the top standings can inspire more women and young riders to believe they can succeed in this sport too,” she said. Competing against male riders brings unique challenges, but Zakirah has learned to rise above them with focus and resilience. “Sometimes people may underestimate me before I even get on the bike, so I’ve had to prove myself through performance rather than words. On track, the intensity is high and the margins for error are so small. I overcome this by training harder, staying disciplined, and keeping my mindset strong. Once the helmet is on, gender doesn’t matter. It’s about skill, strategy, and determination,” she explained. Her place in the top five has not come by chance. Experience abroad, particularly racing in Europe, has given Zakirah valuable growth that she has translated into her MSBK season. “Racing in Europe with the girls there has really helped me improve my skills, and I’ve brought that experience into this season. Consistency has been key, with finishing strong, collecting points even in tough conditions, and preparing well off the track. Physical training, studying data, and trusting my team have all played a big role in securing my position so far,” she shared. Zakirah treats every competitor equally but admits that her role as one of the few female riders motivates her to push harder. “I treat every rider the same regardless of gender, because once we’re on the grid it’s about performance. But yes, being one of the few female riders pushes me to raise my standards, not just to prove myself, but to show that women can compete at the same level in this sport. I hope that inspires more women to step into racing,” she said. Her training routine reflects the intensity required to compete at this level. “Physically, I focus a lot on strength and conditioning, cardio for endurance, and core strength for control. Mentally, I prepare by reviewing race data, visualizing scenarios, and keeping a strong, positive mindset. Racing can be unpredictable, so mental focus is just as important as the physical side,” she explained. With Round 3 of MSBK 2025 taking place this weekend, Zakirah remains focused on the bigger picture. “My main target is to stay consistent and keep collecting strong points, because that’s what makes the biggest difference over the season. Of course, I’d love to move higher up in the standings, and I feel confident with the preparation I’ve done and the experience I’ve gained. The competition will be tough, but I’m ready to give it my best,” she affirmed. Above all, Zakirah hopes her journey continues to pave the way for others. “I want young women to know that racing is not limited by gender. If you have the passion and determination, you can achieve your goals. It’s not always an easy journey, but with hard work and belief in yourself, it’s possible to compete at the same level as anyone else. I hope my journey shows that there’s a place for women in so-called ‘male-dominated’ sports too,” she said.

IRFAN IN COMMAND

The MSBK250 A category at Round 3 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP kicked off today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, with Irfan Ardiansyah of MAEZTRO NWN SCK HONDA RACING setting the pace as the fastest overall in the combined practice sessions. The afternoon’s Free Practice 2 was held on a wet track, producing a shake-up in the order. Sai Rahil Pillarisetty of TEAM RACR CASTROL POWER1 took the top spot with a time of 2’40.968s. Irfan continued to impress by placing second at 2’42.656s, followed by his fellow countryman, Md Irfan Haykhal Amidi of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA in third at 2’43.323s. Reynaidi Pradana of REY RACING SPEED took fourth with 2’43.636s, and Anh Phu once again secured a top five finish with 2’44.317s. With the combined results from both practice sessions, Irfan emerged fastest overall, followed by Akif and Viet Tuan, while Akid and Anh Phu rounded out the top five. Irfan commented, “Today’s results were quite good, but the weather was a challenge with heavy rain and only a short dry window. Hopefully tomorrow we can get a better outcome, and the setup we found today can still work. The weather kept changing between hot and rainy, so I hope tomorrow everything will go smoothly.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. Ke Huanni ranked fourth overall, while Carlsen Jacob Solis ensured an international presence in the top five for SSC – HONDA PHILIPPINES – GS BATTERY RACING. Qayyim shared, “In Free Practice 1, I was still searching for the right bike setup and my racing line. In Free Practice 2, I gradually found my rhythm, and the suspension improved as well. This became the best setup so far and allowed me to finish fastest today. I hope I can maintain this momentum through tomorrow and the next day.” SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP. CARLSEN AGAINST THE ODDS

At just 15 years old, Carlsen Jacob Solis has already proven that chasing dreams knows no borders. The SSC – HONDA PHILIPPINES – GS BATTERY RACING TEAM rider is not only holding his ground in the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP, but thriving, sitting third overall after two rounds. What sets him apart is more than raw talent. It’s his extraordinary commitment. While most riders train close to home, Carlsen flies back and forth between the Philippines and Malaysia, sacrificing time and comfort to learn under Malaysian ace Md Ramdan Rosli. For Carlsen, the decision to train under Ramdan was a logical yet strategic move. “Since I am competing in MSBK, it made sense to be coached by a Malaysian rider who is also internationally renowned. He can share with me not only his mastery of the local tracks here in Malaysia but also his international experience,” he explained. Such dedication is no small feat for a teenager. Flying across countries just to train requires resilience beyond his years, but Carlsen remains unfazed. “My dream to reach and excel on the international stage is my biggest drive. It keeps me going despite the difficulties and challenges of training abroad,” he shared. Under Ramdan’s guidance, Carlsen has discovered a coaching style that pushes him to grow in ways he had not experienced before. “Coach Ramdan has a very focused approach to training. He meticulously guides me section by section and compares data to help me achieve results,” he said. Among the many lessons, one stands above the rest. And it has shaped Carlsen not just as a rider, but as a person. “Patience and trusting the process, because success doesn’t happen overnight,” Carlsen said. Under the guidance of Coach Ramdan, he has embraced the philosophy that true progress is built gradually. Every lap and every training session adds up, reinforcing the importance of long-term growth over instant results. He is also acutely aware of how different his development might have been had he stayed home. “Training on world-class race tracks has contributed a lot to my development. Back home, training keeps me active, but abroad, it truly helps me improve,” he noted. Now, with Round 3 of MSBK 2025 taking place this weekend, Carlsen is focused on continuing his momentum and proving himself among the very best in the MSBK250 B class. “My main target for Round 3 is to match and beat my personal best time, and to battle with the leaders in my category. I will give my very best this round,” he affirmed. Looking further ahead, the Filipino rider’s vision is crystal clear, but his heart remains tied to the MSBK paddock. “In a few years, I want to see myself competing on the world stage, but I will definitely come back to MSBK,” he said.

AFIF AIMS TO ENHANCE HIS PERFORMANCE

Round 3 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Ahmad Afif Amran of SUPERFAST JRT X RAPIDO will go all out to retain his position at the top spot in the MSBK250 A race category. In Round 1, he made it to the podium twice at the second spot but in Round 2, he was unstoppable when he dominated the circuit ground and swiped a double-win. With a total of 99 points, he is 13-points away from being defeated by the next rider in line; a trick he may not possibly fall into unless he is challenged by a faulty machine and a bad luck. Afif who has been in the racing scene for a long time has proven his calibre over the years and while he may have gone out of the lime-light in the last two seasons, he is definitely making a comeback this season with a visibly enhanced performance. Riding aboard a 250cc machine is not a new experience for the Terengganu bred rider who is famously known for his outstanding performance aboard the 150cc machine, especially in the local national championship. Afif has gained experiences previously on tank machines and while it was not his strong suit at that time, he has made some remarkable improvements since his participation in MSBK250 A this season. However, the challenges still remain and with a number of strong contenders in the entry list, it’s all about strategizing to ensure the position remains. According to Afif, “My team has gotten a good data last season and we have been utilising it to optimise our machine performance for this season. The outcome has been good so far as we are able to hit our target progressively. I prefer the 250cc machine compared to the 150cc because the lower cc requires quick thinking and strategizing during the race whereas the 250cc has got a lot to do with the machine and the rider’s stamina during the race. I think I am more fitted for the 250cc and so far, I have been enjoying the ride.” “My biggest challenge this season or rather rivalry comes from Irfan Ardiansyah who is quite an experienced rider compared to me. He is also very smart when racing and he knows his way around especially in managing the machine and the circuit. All riders in the MSBK250 A are excellent. So, one slight mistake can make it tough to be in the front troop. The goal right now is to touch up on my riding techniques and my performance so that I can enhance further in this race category however my main aim is to continuously compete competitively throughout the season so that I can maintain among the front troop.”

“SEPANG CHALLENGES ME TO ADAPT!” – PIN-HUNG

Round 3 of the AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Huang Pin-Hung of TRIPLE A GARAGE is pushing beyond his limits to achieve better results in the MSBK250 B race category. In Round 1, the Taipei rider scored double-podium at third spot after battling the highly competitive stride. But that wasn’t enough for him. He bucked up, fine tuned his handling techniques and picked up pace before scoring another double-podium in Round 2 but with a notch up at the second spot. Will Pin-Hung be able to challenge and defeat two-time Weekend Champion, Qayyim Razin of HORIZON RACING TEAM in the next round? It may seem like a tough shot but it isn’t impossible and with the improvements made by the Pin-Hung, the only next move should be the top spot. Commenting on the race, Pin-Hung said, “I’m really happy to move up from third to second place. But talking about the challenges in the MSBK 250B, the hardest part is that I still have a gap compared to the first place. Closing that gap will be the biggest challenge. My machine is in a very good condition and it gives me great confidence but after round 2, I realised that there are still some areas to improve. So, together with the team, we will keep working on the setup to make it better. Both, the speed and riding techniques can always be improved. But for me, the most important part right now is to improve my riding techniques. With better techniques, I can manage the race pace more consistently and find better pace.” “My closest contender are riders with very similar lap times as mine -#25 Jocob Solis. We are always battling on the track, overtaking each other and pushing each other to be better. That competition is what helps me improve every race. I chose to race in MSBK because it’s one of the top championships in Asia, and many strong riders come here. Racing here helps me gain international race experience and also get used to world-class tracks like Sepang. This is an important step toward my future goals, like Asia Road Racing Championship, Asia Talent Cup or even Moto3 one day. Sepang Circuit is a very interesting track. There are so many different types of corners, and some of them are really tricky. But I like this track a lot because it challenges me to adapt and learn every time I ride here. I wish I could have more opportunity to ride in Sepang Circuit!”
