The 2024 edition of the MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship received a more lively reception with the presence of more professional riders from abroad, making their bold moves with their participation in Round 1. While some may call it testing the water, some dived right into the momentum and worked their strokes all the way during the weekend. Among them, attracting the attention was Mckinley Kyle Paz who appeared as the first Filipino rider to participate in the Malaysia Superbike Championship since the championship was launched in 2015. Kyle is known for his resilience in motor racing, where he consistently pushed beyond the boundaries, earning the respect and admiration from his peers and fans alike. In his debut season, Kyle, who aimed to shine, faced technical difficulties with his bike but remained optimistic and focused on the learning experience. Kyle shared, “I enjoyed my first time racing in MSBK even though my bike had some problems but we have learned many things from there. I must say that the intensity level of the race is like ARRC too.” Besides being a debutante and being the first in his country to compete in the MSBK, Kyle carries a unique sense of pride and responsibility too. “It’s always been a pleasure to be the first Filipino in any event. Race 2 of Round 1, MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship was held at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Azroy Hakeem Anuar of BOON SIEW HONDA RACING TEAM celebrated a double win in one weekend in the MSBK1000 A race category. During Race 2, Azroy was fiery when he took the lead with Nakarin trailed closely behind. Azlan at P3 patiently maintained his position and went on to pressure Azroy and Nakarin. In lap 9, Nakarin overshot and the experienced rider, Azlan grabbed the chance to strike forward and took P2, left Nakarin in P3. In last lap, Azlan drew closer to Azroy in hope to overtake but Azroy picked up his pace and won the race at 21’27:597s. Azroy commented, “From the beginning, I tried to break away from the pack. It felt like midway through the race, my pace dropped. I was merely controlling the race, encountering many slower riders behind me who disrupted my racing line. However, I didn’t expect Azlan to be right behind me on the last lap. But overall, it was a good race. Race 2 of Round 1 MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship was held at Sepang International Circuit. Singapore rider, Heng Si Kiat made it as the Weekend Champion in the MSBK1000 B race category. During Race 2, Si Kiat was fast to lead pace as race started. He steadily raced in his pace while maintaining a safe gap from the pack behind. At P2, was Mohd Azlly Shaari of FGRT Project but dropped to P3 after overtook by Lee Po Yu of DREAM TEAM. Po Yu continued to strike forward searching for Si Kiat tried to narrow the gap. In lap 6, Raja Nazeem Iskandar of SEVEN Motorsports overtook Azlly at P3 and attempted to overtake Po Yu, but Po Yu was fast to recover his position in last lap. Si Kiat maintained his dominance on circuit and won the race at 23’14:646s. Si Kiat said, “It was incredibly exhausting, but I poured my heart and soul into this race. I’m deeply grateful for my friends from Singapore who made the journey to support me here. Their presence meant the world to me. Not only did they show up in person, but they also shared my performance on social media, which touched me deeply. Race 2 of Round 1 MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship was held at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Md Helmi Azman of BOON SIEW HONDA RACING TEAM was victorious once again in Race 2 of the MSBK600 race category. During Race 2, Helmi put on a good fight with Apiwath and Thanat throughout the race. Rider’s position changed in each lap between Helmi, Apiwath and Thanat before Helmi finally maintained his position in the top spot from lap 7. Behind him, Apiwath and Thanat was still overtaking each other for second position. In lap 9, Apiwath overtook Thanat and tried to overtake Helmi, but Helmi increased his speed and won the race at 21’58:135s. Commenting on the race, Helmi said, “Today was another tough battle, I tried to get away from the pack but I was stuck within intense race for 6 laps. Round 1 of the MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship took place today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Irfan Ardiansyah of Honda NWN SCK Racing Team bagged the win for Race 2 of the MSBK250 A today. As soon as Race 2 started, the pack was led by different rider from Muhd Muzakkir Mohamed of HORIZON RACING TEAM, Gerry Salim of Honda NWN SCK Racing Team, and Muhd Shahrol Syazras Shahrol Yuzy of Honda Estremo Yuzy Racing before Muhd Irfan Haykhal Amidi of BOON SIEW HONDA RACING TEAM took the lead after entered lap 2. The intensity of the race only increased when position changed rapidly each lap as every rider getting more aggresive to snatch the top position. In lap 7, Irfan made some mistakes watched him immediately dropped to P4. But he patiently took his pace and made his way back to front spot and won the race at 19’56:285s. Irfan said, “Yesterday was unlucky for me because during Race 1, I was disappointed that I could not finish the race due to technical problem. So, from the start of Race 2 I aimed to stay in the front group, but there were too many competitive riders fighting for the front spot. Round 1 MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship was held at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Rakha Bima Saktiansyah of Honda NWN SCK Racing Team appeared as Weekend Champion as he won Race 2 of the MSBK250 B race category. Rakha put on a good show by leading the pack as soon as the race started. In P2, was Malaysian rider, Md Naqib Rifqi Zulhelmi followed by Mohd Farderin Iskandar of Darsalube MH Racing Team in P3. Rakha displayed great confidence throughout the race as he never looked back once to check on the contenders. Rakha only had his eyes focused on the race against himself watched him leaving the pack further behind. While in P3, Farderin trailed behind Naqib, he tried to overtake Naqib but failed as Naqib made sure there was no room for Farderin for the attempt. Rakha proved the victory on this weekend belonged to him as he took the win at 20’46:771s. With the races combined, Rakha made it as the Weekend Champion. Rakha stated, “It was awesome and satisfying to be able to leave all the riders far away behind me. Round 1 of the MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship took place today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Azroy Hakeem Anuar of BOON SIEW HONDA RACING TEAM took the win today in Race 1 in the MSBK1000 A race category. During the qualifying session this morning, Azroy made the fastest lap time at 2’07:633s. At second fastest place was Nakarin Atiratphuvaphat of HONDA RACING THAILAND with his best at 2’07:675s. Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman of HORIZON RACING TEAM made it third fastest with his best lap time at 2’08:131s. Azroy took the lead position at the start followed closely by Nakarin at P2 and Azlan at P3. Entering turn 4, Nakarin’s bike touched Azroy’s when attempted to overtake P1 caused a slight instability and immediately watched Azlan moved forward and lead the pack. But Azroy picked up his speed and overtook Azlan in lap 3. The race position remained the same before Nakarin overtook Azlan in lap 7 to take P2. Unfortunately, a sudden change of weather occurred, the rain started pouring watched Nakarin fell at turn 8 due to wet track condition. Round 3 of the MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship took place today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Heng Si Kiat from Singapore took the win today in Race 1 in the MSBK1000 B race category. Earlier today in qualifying session, Si Kiat clocked in fastest with his best lap time at 2’16:638s giving him the advantage needed to stay ahead of the others during the race. At the second fastest spot was Raja Nazeem Iskandar of SEVEN Motorsports with his best lap time at 2’18:509s followed by Lee Po Yu of DREAM TEAM with his best lap time at 2’18:599s. Si Kiat took the lead as the race started. In P2 was Nazeem followed closely by Po Yu. Mohd Azlly Shaari of FGRT Project patiently finding his pace while being trailed by Malaysian Rider, Chan Qing Rong in P5. In fifth lap, Nazeem overtook Si Kiat and took P1 however Si Kiat managed to retake the position in sixth lap. While Azlly overtook Po Yu to take P3. By lap 7, the rain started pouring and a crash occurred due to the wet track condition. Red flag was raised and the race was declared finished with half point awarded to riders. Round 3 of the MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship took place today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Md Helmi Azman of BOON SIEW HONDA RACING TEAM claimed victory in Race 1 of MSBK600 race category. In the qualifying session that was held this morning, Helmi was competitive as he went on to mark the fastest with his best lap time at 2’09:928s. Apiwath Wongthananon of YAMAHA TEKHNE RACING TEAM ASIA made it second fastest with his best lap time at 2’10:227s. At third fastest was Md Syarifuddin Azman BOON SIEW HONDA RACING TEAM with his best lap time at 2’10:769s. As soon as the race began, Helmi was quick to find his position at the first turn with Thanat Laoongplio of HONDA RACING THAILAND right behind him at P2. Apiwath trailed behind at P3. By the end of lap 1, Apiwath took over Thanat and followed Helmi closely. Lap by lap, Apiwath inched closer to Helmi. In lap 8, Apiwath overtook Helmi in turn 15 but Helmi managed to retake his postition at turn 1 in lap 9 and raced towards victory at 21’59:307s. Helmi commented, “Apiwath is such an excellent rider. It was one of my wish to beat him because I could not finish the race before him in IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. Today, I finally did it.
