Here is a different kind of excitement in the Malaysia Superbike Championship with the inclusion of MSBK1000 B Class that speaks a volume about the many talents aspiring to become successful riders. Muhd Syukri Mat Zoki of ESRA RACING TEAM is looking forward to the final round of the championship which will be held at the Sepang International Circuit this weekend.
Every individual rider has their own sets of pros and cons in their riding journey be it in terms of their machines or their riding abilities. Similarly, Syukri has had his fair share of advantages and disadvantages this season. Most importantly, he was able to identify issues that limit him and work towards achieving a better outcome.
According to Syukri, “My motivation is to challenge my own capabilities. As a privateer rider, I want to try and achieve a name in the world of motorsport and MSBK has offered a platform for riders like me to do just that.”
As seen this season, Syukri’s performance in Round 1 was good especially in Race 1 and he managed to pull in a total of 46 points at the end of the weekend. He made it to the third spot on the podium. In Round 2, he upped his performances and did much better in all three races, banking in a total of 58 points and a spot on the podium in second place.
Commenting on the race, Syukri said, “For Round 1 and Round 2, we did not make many changes to the engine of the machine. However, we managed to find the right setup of the suspension that would suit my riding style. With that, I was able to stay put among the front group. I was also able to achieve a more consistent pace and lap time and catch up with the front riders.”
“After we identified the setup of suspension for Round 2, there was no specific strategy except that I followed the right rhythm to catch up and find the opportunity to strike in the last two or three laps. For Round 3, I hope to get P1 and the “Weekend Warrior” title as we have not achieved that so far for this season. As for the preparation, it is more skewed towards my own physical and mental preparedness.”
