CHEN, WEEKEND CHAMPION

CHEN, WEEKEND CHAMPION

Race 3 of Round 2, Malaysia Superbike Championship was held at Sepang International Circuit. Chen Hsuan Ming of Dream Team made it as the Weekend Champion in the MSBK1000 B race category.

During Race 2 earlier, Amir was steady with his pace as he took control of the circuit ground. But he faced threats from his nearest contenders, Chen and Radzi. The trio exchanged positions between laps before Radzi emerged to take the lead, consequently completing the race ahead of the others.

In Race 3, once again, Amir displayed his dominance on the circuit. Radzi went on to challenge him from the back while Chee Yen tried to close the gap and move ahead. By the third lap however, Radzi overtook Chee Yen. Amir maintained his position well. By mid-lap, the three top riders maintained their positions. With four more laps to go, Chen took over Chee Yen’s position. Radzi was 3s away from Amir.

With 3 more laps to go, Chen was inching closer to Radzi and overtook from the inside. He then took speed and went on to draw a comfortable gap. But Radzi did not give up. He went on to chase Chen and exchanged positions. While Amir was on his way to completing the race first at 22’37:728s, Radzi and Chen entangled in a heated battle before Chen completed second fastest while Radzi clocked in third fastest.

With the races combined, Chen Hsuan Ming of Dream Team made it as the Weekend Champion.  Commenting on his win, Chen said, “I am very happy and lucky to have won this weekend. I love Malaysia and thank you MSBK!”

Second on the podium was Md Amir Rozali of Horizon Racing Team.

Third was Md Radzi Omar of FGRT (Fauzi Gan Racing Team).
