ALIF RULED FINAL LAP TO WIN

Round 2 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP took place today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Muhd Alif Danial Md Asri of KAVIN MOTOR took the win in Race 1 of the Berjaya Sompo YAMAHA R15M Race Elites category.

During the qualifying session this morning, Muhd Izam Ikmal Izamli of SENG HOE MOTOR RACING posted the fastest lap time at 2’47.718s. The second-fastest was Abdullah Qayyum Abd Razak of SOON CHYE MOTOR at 2’48.752s, followed by Muhd Izzat Zaidi Mohd Salehan of TAYCON MOTOR with a time of 2’49.238s.

Izam led the group at the start of the race, followed by Qayyum and Izzat. Muhd Haziq Mohd Hamdan of TKC RACING was also aggressive, working hard to maintain his position in the front group. Izam later crashed and was visibly frustrated as he was forced to retire from the race.

With each lap, rider positions changed rapidly. It seemed difficult for any single rider to lead the group or build a significant gap.

On lap 5, Muhd Shafiq Ezzariq of SOON CHONG RACING TEAM made his way to the front and opened a small gap, but was soon overtaken by Qayyum and Izzat.

After the final turn, Alif made a smart move to the front and sped past the finish line to claim victory with a time of 20’19.572s. Haziq secured second place at 20’19.733s, and Shafiq completed the podium in third with 20’19.742s.

Alif said, “In today’s race, I focused on following the leader first and finding my race pace. Once I found it, I started pushing over the last two laps, catching up with the riders in the front group, one by one. I tried to exit early at the second last turn and stayed close until the final corner. Alhamdulillah, my strategy worked.”

SIC AND TWMR WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO AEON CREDIT (M) BERHAD FOR THE SUPPORT RENDERED THIS WEEKEND DURING AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP.
