RAIYAN WON, ASYRAFF CHAMPION
The Berjaya Sompo YAMAHA R15M Race Elites category in Race 2 of Round 4 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit saw Raiyan Khardanee Mohd Sanusi of SINGDECA claimed the race win. Meanwhile, Asyraff Zaquan Zainal Raif of SOON CHYE MOTOR secured the Overall Champion title for the season.
At the start, Asyraff launched strongly to lead the pack, followed by Ahmad Malek Ridha Mohd Nazrun of SOON CHONG RACING TEAM and Ahmad Jebat Zulkarnain of WEE PLUS RACING SABAH. The race saw continuous position changes, with multiple riders challenging for the front. By Lap 6, Malek overtook Asyraff, trying to break away, but the tightly packed group made it difficult for any rider to escape.
On the final lap, the action intensified. Raiyan executed an impressive move, slicing through the group to cross the finish line first in 20’23.038s, followed closely by Ahmad Iqram Danish Ahmad Ghazali of SHH PENANG TEAM in second at 20’23.086s, and Jebat claiming third in 20’23.206s.
Overall, Asyraff is crowned Berjaya Sompo YAMAHA R15M Race Elites Overall Champion, with 81 points, ahead of Jebat with 63 points and Iqram with 60 points.
Raiyan said, “Alhamdulillah, I’m grateful to have won today’s race. The first lap was a struggle because I had a poor start, but I focused and worked to regain momentum to get back to the front, and in the end, I secured first place. I want to thank my parents and friends who prayed for me. This category is very tough. Yesterday in Race 1, I finished P17 and didn’t score any points. My goal today was simply to reach the podium, and Alhamdulillah, I achieved it.”
Asyraff added, “Alhamdulillah, I am the champion this season. I want to thank everyone who has helped me throughout the year. Today’s race was tough, especially Race 2, as many riders challenged me. Thank you to everyone who has supported me.”
