REDEMPTION FOR AZROY

REDEMPTION FOR AZROY

The opening round of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP was held at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Azroy Hakeem Anuar of Honda Racing Malaysia celebrated his comeback by winning Race 2 in the MSBK1000 A race category.

During Race 2, Azroy was aggressive as he took the lead, with his teammate Md Helmi Azman and Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia closely trailing behind.

On lap 3, Kasma overtook the top spot, with Azroy following in pursuit. At P3, Helmi set the fastest lap time of 2’06:669s at a top speed of 291.9 km/h, attempting to close the gap on Kasma and Azroy.

Kasma pushed harder, setting an incredible lap time of 2’06:647s. However, on lap 7, Helmi crashed at turn 15, ending his podium hopes.

Kasma held his position, under pressure from Azroy. On the final lap, Azroy delivered an impressive performance, overtaking Kasma to win the race with a time of 21’15:889s.

Azroy said, “Yesterday, in Race 1, we faced brake issues and couldn’t make it to the podium. Alhamdulillah, today there were no issues with my bike. During the race, I intentionally let Kasma lead as his pace was strong. He had a gap of 0:100s towards the end, so I decided to conserve my energy and attack only on the last lap, and my strategy paid off.”

Kasma finished in second place with a time of 21’16:507s, and Adam Norrodin of AMI SUZUKI MOTORSPORT took third with a time of 21’24:132s.

PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit and Two Wheels Motor Racing would like to express our heartfelt thank you to AEON Credit (M) Berhad for the support rendered this weekend during AEON CREDIT MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship.
