QAYYIM STILL ON TOP
Round 4 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP kicked off at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit today, with Qayyim Razin Razali of HORIZON RACING TEAM dominating the MSBK250 B category to emerge as the fastest rider in the combined Free Practice classification.
The opening Free Practice 1 saw strong competition at the front, led by Carlsen Jacob Solis of SSC – HONDA PHILIPPINES – GS BATTERY RACING, who clocked a 2’31.890s to top the session. Qayyim stayed close in second with 2’32.110s, while Huang Pin-Hung of TRIPLE A GARAGE secured third. Kabilesh Rajini of TEAM RACR CASTROL POWER1 and Saidatul Zakirah Zairin of LADY BOSS RACING TEAM completed the top five.
In Free Practice 2, Qayyim turned the tide emphatically, launching himself to the top of the timesheets with an impressive 2’30.919s. Solis remained in close contention with 2’31.157s, just 0.238s behind. Huang showed consistent pace to retain third, followed by Kabilesh and Khairul Firdaus Kadzim in fifth.
With the combined classification factoring in the fastest laps from both sessions, Qayyim claimed first overall with 2’30.919s, edging Solis by 0.238 seconds. Huang rounded out the top three, as the category continued to showcase tight competition among regional talents.
Qayyim reflected, “Alhamdulillah, today I managed to record the fastest times in both Free Practice 1 and Free Practice 2. I’m still working to refine the bike setup ahead of Qualifying and Race 1, and it’s been a challenge, but we’re making progress. I’ve started to find improvements step by step, especially with the suspension and overall riding feel, so now the focus is fully on tomorrow’s mission. I can see the potential to secure a hat trick, and I want to keep this momentum going and finish both races strongly. I’ll continue to push and work hard. The bike still has a little more to give, and I’m hoping for even bigger improvements tomorrow.”
