KHAIRUL SEALED A COMMANDING WIN

The 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP witnessed an exciting showdown in the MSBK600 category during Round 2 at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Khairul Idham Pawi of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA emerged victorious, securing the top podium spot after a thrilling 10-lap race.
The race began with Farres Putra Mohd Fadhil of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MALAYSIA leading the pack, but Muhd Irfan Haykhal Amidi of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA quickly took over the lead in the opening lap. Khairul and Irfan, both from the same team, engaged in an exciting battle for the lead, overtaking each other throughout the race, while Farres sat in third position, closely followed by Cao Viet Nam of HONDA RACING VIETNAM TEAM.
By lap 2, Khairul managed to overtake Irfan, but Irfan continued to apply pressure from behind, keeping the race tense and thrilling.
On lap 3, Khairul set the fastest lap of the race with 2’11.969s, watched him and Irfan pulled a 2.577s gap ahead of the rest of the group.
On Lap 6 saw Irfan’s slider dropped and affected his performance, particularly in the left corners. Meanwhile, Chiang Chih Ying from Chinese Taipei crashed in a high-side incident, forcing him out of the race.
On final lap, Khairul continued to lead consistently, and he had built a significant gap of 12 seconds over Irfan.
Khairul crossed the finish line to claim a dominant victory at 22’06.553s. Irfan secured second place at 22’21.492s, followed by the Viet Nam at 22’29.254s.
Khairul said, “In today’s race, I focused on managing my tires and maintaining my position at the front all the way to the final lap. Alhamdulillah, I’m glad I managed to secure the win today. I’m hoping tomorrow will be even better than today.”
