IRFAN IN COMMAND
The MSBK250 A category at Round 3 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP kicked off today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, with Irfan Ardiansyah of MAEZTRO NWN SCK HONDA RACING setting the pace as the fastest overall in the combined practice sessions.
In Free Practice 1, Irfan dominated the session by clocking the fastest lap time of 2’28.224s. He was followed closely by Muhd Akif Abdullah of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA in second with 2’29.270s, while Ngo Nguyen Viet Tuan of HONDA RACING VIETNAM TEAM secured third position with 2’29.789s. Md Akid Aziz of SUPERFAST JRT X RAPIDO placed fourth with 2’29.842s, and Nguyen Ton Anh Phu of HONDA RACING VIETNAM TEAM completed the top five with 2’30.148s.
The afternoon’s Free Practice 2 was held on a wet track, producing a shake-up in the order. Sai Rahil Pillarisetty of TEAM RACR CASTROL POWER1 took the top spot with a time of 2’40.968s. Irfan continued to impress by placing second at 2’42.656s, followed by his fellow countryman, Md Irfan Haykhal Amidi of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA in third at 2’43.323s. Reynaidi Pradana of REY RACING SPEED took fourth with 2’43.636s, and Anh Phu once again secured a top five finish with 2’44.317s.
With the combined results from both practice sessions, Irfan emerged fastest overall, followed by Akif and Viet Tuan, while Akid and Anh Phu rounded out the top five.
Irfan commented, “Today’s results were quite good, but the weather was a challenge with heavy rain and only a short dry window. Hopefully tomorrow we can get a better outcome, and the setup we found today can still work. The weather kept changing between hot and rainy, so I hope tomorrow everything will go smoothly.”
