KAMARUL SET THE PACE

Round 4 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP kicked off at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit today, with Kamarul Izad Ishak of KOYAK DESIGN LUQMANAN BY ZYNERGY RACING asserting his pace to top the MSBK1000 B combined Free Practice times.

In Free Practice 1, Kamarul Izad set the benchmark with 2’16.127s, immediately showing his intent for the final round. Mohd Azlly Shaari of FGRT PROJECT ONE was second fastest at 2’19.464s, followed closely by Alvinderjit Singh of HORIZON RACING TEAM at 2’19.604s. Teuku Irfan Affandy of TRIPLE A GARAGE and Tee Wee Jin of MOBILUB SUZUKI RACING TEAM completed the top five.
Free Practice 2 saw Kamarul maintain his supremacy with 2’17.166s, while Azlly improved to 2’18.603s for second. Prabhaharan Nair of FGRT PROJECT ONE moved into third at 2’19.682s, followed by Alvinderjit and Amin Ashaari of SAVITAR TEAM ASIA.

With the combined results from both sessions, Kamarul remained fastest overall, followed by Azlly in second and Alvinderjit in third, setting the stage for an intense qualifying and Race 1 battle.

Kamarul commented, “I feel like setting the fastest time today was a bit of a coincidence since I haven’t had enough rest. For this final round, we have strong competition from Azlly, a rival from another championship who is also participating here this time. I think he will be one of the biggest threats to my position. My confidence for tomorrow will depend on whether I get enough rest tonight.”
