SYAZRAS, WINNER OF CBR250 CHALLENGE CUP

Race 2, Round 2 of the Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) went on at Sepang International Circuit today. Shahrol Syazras of Malaysia took home the winning trophy for the Honda CBR250RR Challenge Cup.

Shahrol Syazras was striking in his moves in Race 1. Although the Vietnamese rider challenged him throughout, Syazras was clear with his goals. Syazras went on to complete the race with a 0.309s gap ahead of Duch Thanh. Meanwhile, Huu Tri managed his pace well and concluded third fastest for the day.

In Race 2 that happened this afternoon, once again, Syazras was seen leading the pack in the race category before Darwisy started working his moves on the leader. The duo became entangled in a heated battle but Syazras was quick to recover his position. Duch Thanh managed his pace behind them. With two more laps to go, Syazras and Darwisy continued their heated battle but Syazras showcased greater ability as he went on to complete the race first at 15’16:809s.

While Syazras is not new to the motorsport scene, he is fairly new in the Honda CBR250RR Challenge Cup. Despite that, the Malaysian rider has shown great consistency throughout the weekend in managing his lap time. From Friday till today, Syazras has topped the chart as fastest in free practice, combined, Race 1 and finally in Race 2.

Commenting on the race, Syazras said, “The race went very well although the weather was very hot today. I had a good fight with my teammate today. I followed him while he was at lead, picked up on his mistakes and took advantage of it. Yesterday, the race was a little tough due to the wet circuit so there were areas which were difficult to manage. Today was a much better race. I was much calmer today and my target was to complete the race with fewer mistakes. Hopefully, in the final round, I will be able to do better. The machine’s condition was good today. The setup was perfect for the race and I faced no major issues. I am truly thankful and grateful for my parents who have worked really hard to ensure this success.”

Taking the second spot on the podium was Nguyen Duch Thanh of Vietnam.

Third place went to Ahmad Darwisy of Malaysia.
